Need help with my daughter’s first birthday!
I’m so stuck with what to do! 🤣
Her actual birthday is on the Saturday but I was thinking of doing something on the Sunday to celebrate. All my friends are doing hall parties for their babies but I just think she’s so young she won’t remember it so it will just be for the adults which doesn’t seem fair to me!
So I was thinking of just having grandparents/aunties/uncles round on the Sunday, decorate the front room and do cake and picky bits so my little one can roam around at home, but I can’t help but think it’s not enough?
Not only that, my little girl hates unfamiliar faces(she doesn’t see my partners side of the family very often) and she normally shakes and cries when odd people are in her house!
PLUS - I know this would be MIL’s perfect excuse to invite her side of the family who we do not see and have made no effort with my little girl since she was born…. IM STRESSED!!!!🤣

I’m doing very similar to you just having a family day on his actual birthday and then on the weekend before having family round for cakes and sandwiches. Just low stress. We are splitting the day up into two so we don’t have loads of people in the house at once

Thats exactly the kind of thing we are planning to do, a lowkey small family party at home and probably a little day out the 3 of us

We are doing low key close family thing at home. We are ordering a lovely cake for my son and decorating the house. We are going to book a Christmas lights experience for the 3 of us too

It was my little boys birthday over the weekend, to keep costs low we just had a mini "party" at home with family and a few friends round. Put some food on, just nibbles etc, and a ball pit which the kids loved. It doesn't need to be much 😃

We had to book a place purely because of lack of space at home, otherwise we would host everyone at home. I think it’s much better if you have space.

We had the family round for picky bits and I decorated the living room, we then all went out for dinner.
We are going to go to the sealife centre as well but our LB was poorly yesterday (his birthday) so we've postponed that until the weekend.
Having the immediate family round was lovely for us as he had never met some of them (we're all very scattered across the country) and wasn't overwhelming for our LB as there wasn't too many people.
I'm sure whatever you plan will be perfect for you, don't let what others are doing influence what you think will be best for you and your LO x

My daughter's one next Monday and I'm doing it at my house with just relatives and some balloon decorations. She's far to young to remember having a big party and it isn't worth spending money when theres no need for it.

Main thing is the cake with 1 candle for the all important photo! Creating a memory of that xx

This is the kind of thing we are thinking of doing too, they literally won’t have a clue what’s going on. We had a bbq for my first but he’s birthday is May - winter birthdays are so much harder

We’re not wasting our money on a party he won’t remember it and will nap through it most probably lol we’re just taking him out on his actual birthday to have some fun at a soft play and have told people if they want to come see him over the weekend feel free. It’s different when they’re a little older and know what’s going on my two teenagers had parties when they were small but old enough to enjoy it so we will wait until he knows what’s going on
