First Wake Window ideas

My little girl wakes at 6/6:30 and usually goes down for her first nap around 1 hour & 15 mins later. Once she’s had her first bottle and I’ve changed her, how is best to spend this first wake window? Any ideas would be great, I’m worried about both over and under stimulating her first thing in the morning 🩷

My LO wakes a bit later, she was up at 7. Will probably go down for a nap about 8.30/9ish. We’re on her play mat just popped her toys around her for her to explore, and did a bit of tummy time

I change, feed and play in bed whilst I drink a cup of tea. Look forward to the day that mornings start a little later!

@Katie me too, our bed is covered in soft toys. Were out numbered 😂

This is my fave wake window because she doesn't need many toys to stay cheerful. We sit in bed and sing songs and practice sitting/rolling and stretch/tickle her and then she falls back to sleep after exactly 1hr15 so easily!

I tend to spend this wake windows still in bed. Chat, do nappy very slowly and make it a game, more chatting then feed back to sleep for the next nap. He tends to only have a very small wake window at this time 45 mins ish

I change, feed in bed, let him lay in bed with me whilst I have cereal and a cuppa - he loves playing with the texture of the duvet cover and also has a teething toy. We have a relaxing morning baby Spotify playlist on Then I put him in the doorway of the bathroom whilst I shower After that, we head downstairs and I pop him under his baby gym to play by himself. Then it’s usually nap time after a short while

Thank you so much everyone! I was worried I wasn’t doing enough, but a relaxed wake window in bed sounds like the way forward for now 🥰

We spend the first half an hour lay in bed chatting and smiling. Then get up and read a book and sing nursery rhymes for a bit, I get dressed and sorted and he just lays watching and talking to me x

I get mine up change him then he plays on his mat with his toys while I do jobs and then he has a bottle and goes down for a nap. This way means I get ready during his nap and get time to sit with a cuppa as well rather than doing all my jobs then x

@Elena I do this with mine before her first afternoon nap, she’s either on her playmat or in her bouncer, get jobs done and lunch on then feed her, once she’s asleep I can eat in peace 😂 Obviously depends on the day, some days she won’t be put down. 😬🤦‍♀️

Haha our first wake window is cuddles in bed (with big brother too, both having boob) then breakfast, and then everyone getting dressed, by the time I'm dressed and morning chores are complete, she's ready to sleep. So I don't do any play time in that first window.
