I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding up until today, when I introduced a pump session so I could give my baby his vitamin D drops easier via a bottle. However I’m noticing I’m only pumping 2.75 oz 😰
When I pumped with my first I could have sworn I was getting at least 5-6oz by this point (I started pumping from day 1 with my first).
Curious how much others are getting at this point if they are only doing 1 or 2 pump sessions a day and breastfeeding for all other feeds. Did you do anything to boost production?

Heyy you just started so it’s expected that you will not pump too much yet don’t be too hard on yourself. My daughter is 2 weeks old and I’ve been pumping for about a week. I pump one side while she’s nursing on the other. I probably pump about 4-5 times a day now. I don’t pump during late night and early morning feeds. I get about 3 oz or less on whatever side I’m doing. I sometimes go in on the side ahead just fed from and pump for 10 mins after she feeds. So far I have about 14 bags of 4.5-5oz in the freezer
how long are between your sessions to get the 3 oz from non-nursing side?

2.5 to 3 hours

I massage breasts while pumping as well. I eat a lot of nuts, oatmeal, still drink red raspberry tea and coconut water.
Don’t know if it helps but so far so good with the output. Sometimes I’ll get 1 oz only on each side. It depends on time of day, how much water I’ve had etc.

Im like 2 weeks and only getting 1-2 oz per pumping session:(
I pumped this morning for our first feed after my baby woke me up every 2 hours from 8pm - 8am. I got about 4.5oz (2 on one side and 2.5 on the other). Think it all comes down to timing between pump and feeds. For my morning pump it had been 2 hours since I last emptied both sides.
