Teething.

I think my baby is teething at 8 weeks old?? What can I do for him? I didn’t think it happened this early but his little gums are red raw, excessive saliva, rosy cheeks and rubbing his ears and mouth 🤔

Bless his heart, i don’t know if you can give babies anything that early
Could you put a muslin in the freezer and give him to chew on?
I gave mine a frozen spring onion but she was 5months 2 weeks then

My little one was teething that early. She still is but still yet to have tooth. I didn’t think it was teething till my HV said it was. If he’s 8 weeks old you’ll be able to give him calpol now.

Avatar

He could be but it would be pretty unlikely at this age. This is the age when they start finding their hands and bringing them to their mouths a lot, and producing a lot more saliva. So it could just be a normal developmental stage rather than teething (mine is doing the exact same)

if your baby has been "teething" for 4 months and still no teeth....sounds like she wasn't teething!

Avatar

you do know the babies teeth have to move down into place for the teeth to come through. Babies can teeth for ages without the teeth actually coming through!

Avatar

yes I do. But I'm saying these signs are normal at this stage and not necessarily a sign of teething, especially if no sign of teeth after months!

Avatar

possible to have teeth that early, not likely. Sounds like normal developmental behaviour rather than teething if there's still none there after 4 months

My little one has been teething since she was 8 weeks and yet to see a tooth in her mouth and my health visitor was the one who told me she was teething as I just thought it was part of her development. I seen my hv at 8 weeks when she told me then again every week up until she was 12 weeks and she kept mentioning about her teething.

He’s really unsettled so that’s why I do think it is the start of teething. Thank you for the helpful suggestions girls.

I understand if you've been told it by a HV you're inclined to think so. But I really don't think it is teething, having worked in paediatric dentistry and taking x-rays of children's teeth/jaws I understand how long it takes teeth to come out.

I ain’t going to try and argue over teething🤦🏽‍♀️
you know your baby. You know what’s normal and not normal if he’s irritated and showing symptoms of pain try and give him some calpol to help him.

Tablet for kids

Alright don’t need any negative Nancy’s telling me not to get my 2yo a tablet so if that’s what your gunna do please don’t participate in my poll.

We’re about to move cross country 3+ day trip and my 2yo and 9m hate the car I’m talking scream their heads off till they are out of their seats. We’ve already changed car seats and it didn’t help so I’d like to at least have one entertained and sit next to baby and try and distract her or put her to sleep. Our new car has tvs but since they are rear faced my 2yo can’t see it.

Debating getting her a tablet or dvd player right now on long car rides I end up giving her my phone because I get so overwhelmed sitting in between both of them screaming and crying.

And yes I do bring different toys I bring snacks I play songs try to distract her other ways but for the sake of not losing my mind on this move I think this is best.

-A very overwhelmed and anxious to move mama 😓

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?
