Hello all! So I was thinking of giving my 9 month old tuna pasta but then I read somewhere that they shouldn’t have tuna until they’re 2? But then I read somewhere else that they can have tinned tuna? Can anyone clarify TIA

It's perfectly safe, just buy the tinned tuna in water :)

I fed it to my little girl when she was around that age and she loved it! As Catia says just buy the one in water rather than brine as that can be quite salty x

Tuna is generally considered safe. Just watch the sodium. There is some old research regarding allergens saying that introducing them later is better, but now it's generally recognized that fish is safe to introduce at 6 months.
Tuna is a predator so I wouldn't give it regularly, because of mercury concerns, but once in awhile should be fine.

Yup, perfectly fine as others have said, best to get the spring water one. I made tuna, carrot and broccoli pinwheels this week and little madam loved them

It's fine just not all the time, for the same reason they say not to eat loads in pregnancy, high mercury levels

You can buy the Safe Catch brand. It tastes better and it's the lowest heavy metal amounts on the market.

thank you but we are currently living in Falkland Islands so food is not as easy to get 🙄 but will keep in mind for when I’m back in UK thank you!

@Leah still wouldn't be too worried as long as it wasn't more than 2 or 3 times a month
