Hey
I am not sure if I need to go doctors or not, if this is normal or not.
I started weaning at 6 months, she has always been interested in my food, and want to grab what I have and eat... However her own food ( doesn't matter if it's the same) she doesn't want , or physically will not allow me to feed her.... If I allow her to feed herself then she will chuck on the floor... She's now nearly 9 months in a few days and she has started to put things her mouth finally, however she munched munches,.then pushes out with her tongue.. then out back in her mouth and repeats the process. Now, I would not worry much if it was the fact that over the 6 months here and there I've witness her swallow the odd bit of food, including melty sticks.. but even melty sticks she now pushing out... So in my head in worrying as I'm thinking it can't be part of her learning to eat as I already know for a fact she can swallow as she has swallowed many foods, just not alot of it & most of it went on the floor. I feel like I'm just getting no where with weaning and she will be on bottles forever. I know she wants food as she grabbing it all the time, just not digesting it!! Help, is this a normal 9m stage ?

My son went through a similar stage from about 8 months for about a month. He wouldn't let me feed him and would munch food then swallow it, then put it back in his mouth and so on. He grew out of it and I think it's part of the learning process of eating. However, if it seems to be lasting for too long and she still won't eat at least a bit every meal then I would consult a professional

ah okay, I will give it a few days if that's the case and if not then seek a professional! Thank you

Ask to see a paediatrician or SALT - they've helped with my son in having difficulties in chewing and swallowing ( he often gags & chokes)
