Gestures

Anyone’s babies not managing to do gestures yet?
Trying to teach wave, clap, pointing and head shaking but no luck yet and nearly 10 months old - any tips? I do all the gestures slow and often throughout the day since he was about 5 months old… he can only do high 5😆

Mine can point and clap and kiiiind of wave but can’t shake head or high five or anything! I honestly think they’ll just do it when they do it 🤷🏽‍♀️ they’re all so different!

gestures are done before 12 months aren’t they I think? 2 months to practice ha!

Avatar

haha I think some definitely are but I’m sure I’ve heard some are
A while after 12 months!

Mine can clap and do a high five but no shaking head, pointing yet think they'll just do it in their own time...

Mine will wave, and she knows when to do it. Sometimes she shakes her head to say no. But she doesn’t clap or point at all

We’ve had head shaking for probably 2 months now it’s one of the first things she did and in context. She can wave and clap but only when she wants to😂no pointing yet but not entirely sure I want her to be pointing all the time I don’t want her to get used to pointing at things instead of saying them. No tips I’m afraid I was showing her them things for agesss before she decided to do it x

@Samina same as my little one ❤️

We've had a head shake or 2 (I think a fluke) but definitely got tilting her head to the side 🤣 no waving, clapping or pointing. They all do these things at there own rate so try not to worry too much x

Same situation here, my little boy doesn’t even say 👋🏻 and not actively walking, just kind of standing up but he needs support.
I am worried 😟

Avatar

he crawling fine?? My boy only pulls on me currently not furniture and is sooo clingy as he’s ill but not waving pointing etc :/

Avatar

not walking at 9 months is defo normal? Walking at this age is verrrry early and rare

Avatar

Guys I just looked it up and for pointing it says maybe bring up with a doctor if they aren’t doing it by 18 months so please don’t worry x

Avatar

We gave zero gestures at all. I'm not concerned in the slightest.🥰

crawling not even a bit. He does push his feet and crawl backwards 😂

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
