Those of you who have weaned your LO, how did you do it? I’ve been going slowly and we’re down to one feed before bed. His pediatrician says he eats so much food that he doesn’t really need milk if we don’t want to, and I know it can be kind of hard on a lot of babies’ tummies so I’m scared to add it in. Do I just give him water before bed? Try to transition to milk? Has anyone else had a similar situation?

We don’t do dairy either. I purchased califia’s organic unsweetened coconut milk and also Kiki unsweetened milk. I’ve been trying to nurse only twice a day (once in the morning and once before bed) and during the day her nanny gives her two bottles. We started last week with 75% breast milk 25% milk alternative and are working our way up to no breast milk. This week she’s having 50% of each in both bottles.
My plan is to cut out morning feeds first then night feeds. She loves water and eats enough solids during the day so that helps. I think cutting out the night feeds will be the hardest so will probably have my husband handle night wakes that week.
Anyone have any advice on what to do when you remove a feed to prevent engorgement?
