Does anyone else dread from 5pm till bedtime? My baby is so fussy from 5pm it’s like he’s bored of playing with everything because he’s mostly done it all day, I can’t seem to keep him happy in the evenings, it makes sorting out dinner such a mission and can never eat anything in peace or eat a hot meal
We have tried earlier bedtime, longer or shorter last nap etc. it doesn’t make a difference he is just in an awful mood for the last few hours of the day and it’s really getting to us!

Our daughter also really struggles after that last cap nap of the day.
She seems to do better with my husband (I think she’s bored of me by then).
He does a lot of carrying her around the house, watching me make dinner etc. and then we put her in her high chair with some toys whilst we eat and she’s usually happy with that long enough for us to eat. Then we drag out bathtime 🤣
If we are really desperate, we pop her forward facing in the carrier and get her outside

I watched a video of a sleep consultant saying that around 5pm is when all their sleepy hormones are coming into action and whatever else happens inside their little body as they approach evening time. I also use my partner as a new play toy as my cup is usually pretty empty by that point! We then do bath/bottle/bed from 6-7. Also totally with you on not being able to eat, I now eat at 7 when my girl goes to bed x

Yep this is us and he's been like it since he was 8 weeks old. In some ways it has improved as he's a little more distractible but on bad days you can't even put him down in the highchair to play for a bit. Its soooo tiring when it's the end of the day but it's still like 2 hours till bath time. As Anabel said going outside in the garden and looking at things helps and now evenings are getting lighter that should be easier. But yep I feel you
