Routines! Naps! Help!! šŸ˜‚

What is everyone’s LOs routines? My LB still naps (I’m trying to cap at an hour) as he can be harder to settle for bed, and is still waking through the night and then always awake by 6am at the latest! I’m exhausted!! I don’t think he’s ready to drop his nap yet though 😫

Wake: 6am
Nap: 1-2pm
Bedtime: 8pm (aim for but often doesn’t get to sleep til 8:30 or even later!).

Any advice on how to improve sleep? He falls asleep independently, we have the same night time routine etc (Bath, books, cuddles, sleep etc).

I think the nap is quite late considering his wake up time so could this be brought forward? Should also help with settling him earlier at night šŸ¤žšŸ¼

We’re an up by 6.45/7am, no nap with us but 30 mins with the childminder at circa 1.30pm. Asleep by 8/8.15pm. My little one has always been a pretty good sleeper but when she started taking a long time to go to bed at night we started to reduce the nap (90 mins to 30 mins if any)

ahh ok. How did you reduce nap (how much by and over what time frame?) I’m thinking he needs a shorter nap but sometimes he’s really grouchy when I wake him up or really difficult to wake!!) xx

We went from 90 to 60 first that was an overnight thing to be honest, then 60 to 30 by 5 mins increments every few days. Maybe start with a few mins earlier each day and see how you get on? I found a slow wake up was good so I’d go and potter around for a little while before getting her out of bed. Watch a 5 minute cartoon or something if she was still grouchy!

Do you wash your hands after changing a nappy?

I've been to quite a few baby groups where I've noticed a lot of her mums don't wash their hands after they change their baby. they just change them in the room and then carry on with the class. Personally, I find it gross and the same as going to the toilet without washing your hands. I wondered whatever everyone else thought.

Lump in breast when breastfeeding

I have found a lump in my breast that is sore to touch and hard. It feels kind of moveable. Has anyone had this while breastfeeding? It’s not mastitis as I’ve had that a few times

Are you still breastfeeding?

The doctor has just told me that there’s no benefit past a year. And when I said that’s a weird thing to say, he told me it’s a fact.
