Its just an anatomy scan, checking babyās hands, legs, heart beat, brain, lips, nose literally everything about the baby just to be sure baby is developing fine.

Be ready to do squats and wiggle your bum if your baby refuses to move in the direction the need.
I had to be rebooked for my scan cause baby was too active, then second scan baby refused to turn in the direction they needed š¤£š¤£š¤£

thank you - thatās helpful to know. we had a bit of a scare early on in the pregnancy so i feel like every scan is going to come with bad news but helps knowing what they will be looking for/at!

omg haha i will take maybe a sugary snack to help the process if needs be!š baby was playing you did you get rescanned for a third time or did you have to try and get them to move on that second scan?š«£

I had a previous loss at 16w 6d so didnāt make it to the anatomy scan so wasnāt sure what to expect this time around but its nothing to worry about drink some apple juice about 10/15 mins before the scan hopefully should get baby moving a little,
As above said theyāll check hands face etc and will also check babyās cord and the blood flow etc babyās gender too if you ask, easier said than done but honestly try not to worry think of it as just another opportunity for you to see baby š„°

Be careful about having a sugary snack, my baby was too active and I had to be sent off for a 30 min walk and then still had to do two rounds of jumping up and down and wiggling to get her to turn the right way š but overall the appointment was fine, they are quiet at times when looking so don't worry when that happens it just means they are trying to get all the measurements. I also freaked out a little when I got the report as it said something about view being suboptimal because of baby's position/movements and that scan looked OK but they couldn't rule out any anomalies still but then checked previous scan reports and realised they all have some disclaimer statement to say that they can't rule everything out etc.

I was so scared but in reality, I had no signs or symptoms that gave me a reason to be. Easier said than done, but unless someone says otherwise, have faith everything is okay š¤

I would just say donāt treat it like an anomaly scan, treat it like a day you get to see your baby, this is probably also the last ones you get before itās born, so enjoy it, I didnāt even know what it was about, so had 0 anxiety and was just excited to see the baby, the bliss in the unknown š„²

With my first they couldnāt get all the measurements needed so I had to go back so donāt worry if they say they need to book you in again! They do have a lot to measure at that scan and baby really has to play nicely š
I also asked gender and they were really snarky about it so donāt be surprised if they arenāt keen on doing it - they did but I really wasnāt confident

thank you so much!! we was super lucky our lady was lovely, went through every single thing, quiet but told us what she was looking for, had to jump about and rock forwards and backwards as baby was laying right under my belly button for something she needed to scan - baby is measuring slightly smaller (within the range) but the small end, so have to see a consultant and growth scans with some aspirin so hopefully they pick up and grow a bit within the next few weeks! you girls reassured me and i felt a bit less panicked before i went in this morning!
