Sleep at night?

How old is your little one & how long do they sleep at night?

Would love to hear at what age your baby started sleeping 5+ hours

My boy is 9 weeks old and sleeps usually a 4 hour stretch at night followed by a 3 hour stretch. Every once in a while he’ll sleep a 5 hour stretch but I don’t count on it!
Every baby is different and don’t stress on it too much! You will eventually sleep again (speaking as a second time mom)
My first baby was the worst sleeper and woke up every 2 hours up until he was about 9 months old. Now he’s 3 years old and has no problems sleeping.
I know it’s hard right now but it’ll get easier!

oh wow! So they only get up once at night for a feed? Are they breast or bottle fed?

My 6 week old usually sleeps 4-6 hours and then another 2-3 hours and has since about 3 weeks old. My pediatrician told me at 2 weeks to start a routine that starts at the same time every night and consists of bath time, lotion baby, put on a pj outfit and then bottle and put to sleep. He stressed that it should be a quick process and ever since we started the routine she’s sleeping better. He told us not to read books at night but I have heard others that do and it works so I think the importance is a specific routine at the same time every night.

My girl is 9 weeks and she sleeps from 9:00pm-4:00am and started doing that around 7 weeks

She’s 9 weeks On average 3-4 hours. But some nights she’ll sleep 6 and some she wakes up every hour 🫠 hopefully it gets more consistent soon.

Avatar

that’s so interesting because i’ve resd that formula babies eat every 3-4 hours in the day & breastfed babies eat more frequently so i love hearing stories that don’t fit what the ā€œinternetā€ says

Shes 9 weeks and she sleeps 5 hours! Last night was her first time she slept from 10pm to 5am! Mine is also formula fed

Avatar

at 3 weeks my lo started sleeping 6 hours then wakes to feed at 2-3am and sleeps for about 3 hours & then he’ll wake again around 6am and 9am. after the 9am feed that’s when he’s ready to start his day and be alert. During the day we only get short naps (20-30mins) and i would say about 4-5 naps during the day.

yeah trying to remember that it is just hard as a FTM not to compare or wonder why your LO isn’t sleeping the same etc.

Every baby is different! We didn't change anything in his night routine & we started the routine at like 5 weeks... but he went from 2-3 wake ups to 2 and then 1 within maybe 3 weeks. He started sleeping through the night right around 10 weeks and he is 12.5 now. He goes 11-12 hours at night. Again we didn't change anything... it just started happening. He is SO active now so I think that helps to burn calories. I've also upped his ounces during the day so he has full feeds. He has 6oz bottles about every 3 hours & then a 4oz bottle around bedtime. I know he likes around 28oz for the day so I aim for that. Again every baby is different and I think we just got lucky. We even transitioned out of swaddle last week. It's normal for sleep to be all over. He isn't the greatest napper but it's a tradeoff for a full night sleep.

My 8 weeks old sleeps a 5+ hour stretch then wakes up about 2-3 hours twice a night before he’s up for the day.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵
