Good high chair?

I’m overwhelmed by the amount of choice in high chairs! Which one do you have and would you recommend? Also, why is the stokke trip trap so expensive for just the stand 🤪

EDIT:
for those of you saying IKEA does your baby have another chair to chill in when you’re eg. In the kitchen or in the bathroom, I feel like the ikea chair wouldn’t be comfy to sit in for that long

With highchairs. The simpler the better and easier to clean. I used to have maxi cosi minla and it was awesome as a newborn as you could recline it. But then it turned into a nightmare to clean. Ikea is fine if you add an insert and footrest. Otherwise my favorite has been the childcare one. Easy to clean and more supportive. The trip trap is expensive because of the brand. But I have also heard it is great! The accesories make it so expensive too.

This is the one I’m planning to get, you can add adjustments for newborns/toddlers and then as they get older it’s fully modular to adjust the height of the seat and footrest. My sister in law had this for her kids and loved it!!

We have one from bigw or Kmart & it’s the best.

I wouldn’t go for the fanciest, go for something that is easy to clean.

We have the Joie 6 in 1 and really like it. My almost 3 year old likes it as it's comfortable and it's also really easy to clean. My 6 month old is now in her own one and it's easy for both young babies and toddlers. We had a Stokke trip trap when my son was younger it's a really good chair but very bulky as it doesn't fold so you need the space to always have it out and it's wooden so not as comfortable to sit on for long periods of time unless you buy the add on things which are again so expensive. Something I hated was it was hard for silicone to stick to the Stokke trip trap tray so when they're younger and throw things they can pick up the bowl or plate easily.

I have 4 kids, and with 2 eldest I had a simple ikea high chair, with my 3rd it wanted a better one as i had a lady that she was so in love with the maxi cosi one, so I spent $400 on this high chair and I used it for like a week and went and bought my ikea high chair again.
The maxi cosi, is good but when my kid was being messy, it was hard to clean, then I had to take the seat covers and wash them and with the ikea, there's no padding and u can just hose the thing down and is clean!
Kmart has the same/similar version to ikea high chair

I either had the Kmart or IKEA one. Easy to clean. Added a foot rest and when the baby was young, an inflatable cushion. It was the perfect set up

Stokke clikk. So easy to put together and dismantle. You can also purchase a travel bag.

Stokke Tripp Trapp. Had 3 of them. My 10 year old still uses his.

All plastic. Easiest to clean. But IKEA doesn’t have arm straps. My son’s been climbing out for ages.

IKEA or Kmart. Most restaurants also have the ikea highchair so I find it’s familiar for my little one when we are out for a bite to eat x

I was recommended the ikea chair but I ignored alllll recommendations because i thought it was ugly & I went for the mocka knock off of the Tripptrap, worst decision ever (don’t make the same mistake). The wood was hard to clean (too many edges and corners), the table was bolted on so couldn’t just take off and run under the sink, suction bowls didn’t suction to wood (think toddler throwing bowls around). The seat pads were a fabric which is so dumb & not easily cleaned.
You couldn’t buy the catchy for it either.

So I then went back to the ikea chair & it was THE best decision ever. Soooooooo easy to clean, I spend my day cleaning up after his meals - the mess is INSANEEE.

If you want the catchy (has been another cleaning game changer), that will limit your options.

There is a reason why people say go cheap and simple!

The only thing with the IKEA or similar is that they will grow out of it

I wish I got the ikea one. I bought 2 expensive ones that are a pain to clean and bulky in the house

We have one from ikea.. it's the best.. easy to clean. I had bought another one from jengo...but didn't end up using it, since the baby chair was a bit inclined and I realised that my bub wasn't able to sit upright.

I found the ikea ones to be the best. It's not pretty at all but so simple and easy to clean!

Ikea Antilop highchair - easy to use and clean and move around house. Hose off outside when really dirty.
Snacka highchair from kmart - legs come apart and can become a small chair and good to use in bathroom around the house and at the beach

I’ve got one from ikea and bought the footrest off market place, it’s working for us

I highly recommend as plain and simple as possible, consider cleaning the top priority! I bought a lovencare one for my first child, and it is great but I focused on comfort and her being able to do multiple things in it, like draw/paint while I cooked/cleaned and although helpful it has so many nooks and crannies that food get stuck in it takes forever to get clean. That outweighs so much of the benefits coz I am forever trying to ensure it’s clean for her to eat in! 😅

I have the Tripp Trapp and it’s so expensive because it’s so good. The baby can’t fall out of it.
It doesn’t take up much room, can be pulled up to the table so that baby can have dinner at the table. It’s sturdy and fully adjustable so that it can be used as a comfy ergonomic chair by the child until adulthood

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Rant/WWYD

My sister (youngest, 24) has two kids, 4 & 1, and i (oldest, 30) just have my one who’s 6mo old right now, so i ask her for advice or call her to vent about things sometimes. Well im tired of her turning around and telling my other family members that I’m “losing my sh*t.” Literally have not lost my sh*t nor have i ever freaked out to her about my baby, i just call her to talk and tell her what stage my baby is in or talk through how im feeling, but she chooses to tell people that im like a complete nutcase or something which worries me that my family is going to start being judgmental about me as a mother or looking at me funny like I’m some fragile ticking time bomb.

What would you do in this situation? I’m already pretty much decided that I’ll stop telling her anything about my struggles, but I’m almost at the point where i feel like it should be confronted because she, of all people, should understand what I’m going through.

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!

Rapid cool/ hot shot method

Sorry if this sound stupid but how are we doing the hot shot method?
Are we boiling the kettle and letting it cool a little before adding to hot flask? Then with the cool water do you boil the kettle and leave it to cool right down before putting into another flask?
My baby brain is fried trying to work out the easiest way!
