Crying and screaming on the changing table

My LO has suddenly started crying and screaming every time we put him on the changing table. I’ve tried giving him toys to keep him distracted while changing - which seemed to work at first. But now he refuses his toys, his dummy, anything else I give and just continues to scream continuously until I bring him down. 🤯 any ideas?
