i’m currently 27 weeks pregnant, i know that pregnancy can make your hormones start to rage, but lately anything that slightly annoys me sends me spiraling and i don’t talk to my stepdaughter or my fiancé for a while until i calm down (in case i say something i wish i didn’t) i’m currently cleaning because it’s my safe outlet for my emotions. i feel so bad for my blowups and distancing myself but it’s what i need to do. are there any mamas suffering with borderline personality disorder…i feel so alone…

Learn more about our guidelines.I have bpd as well. I also found it got worse during pregnancy.
same girl, 26w and i honestly feel like my medications are the only thing keeping me together rn and i'm looking into therapy as well again for my 3rd trimester but i have splits a few times a week still. pre-pregnancy i was on the same medication and didn't meet the criteria anymore. have you tried medication?
@tori i was on topiramate but with every medication “do the benefits outweigh the risks?” so i’ve just been hoping for the best everyday. not on anything now. im trying to find safe supplements that could help.
I have bpd which worsened during my pregnancy too. I found not being medicated really difficult to deal with, but they don't tend to medicate bpd where I am :/ It did feel very lonely. I'm sorry you're feeling that way
let me know if you find anything of use! some conditions can't be treated completely safely during pregnancy, especially if your BPD has psychotic tendencies that can put more stress on your body than taking a medication that mostly poses a threat in the 1st trimester. i stopped my anticonvulsant in my 1st trimester and was clear during my 2nd to continue again. just remember a healthy and stable mom is more prepared to take care of baby and it's worth it imo not to spiral everyday bc baby is affected by stress too. it's risky either way unmedicated or medicated with BPD and hormones so i hope you can find something that works for you! 💗
I just had one of the worst blowups yesterday. The anger is so intense and I really feel like it could potentially damage my relationship with my husband, but I swear he makes me so mad sometimes!! I just started my second trimester and the thought of another two trimesters of this has be worried.
Wish I could help you. I have no answers, but want you to know you’re not alone.
