Help with naps. We have always had a strict schedule and routine for bedtime. But only loose schedule for naps. She sort of sleeps when she needs it unless she’s really fighting then take her into dark room and rock her to sleep or place her in cot and soothe her but have nothing consistent.
She naps for 30/40 mins at 10, 1.30/2 and 4 (sometimes).
She sleeps from 6.30/7 until 6.30 in night . Should I be trying to get her to sleep more in day? Nursery are stuggling to get her to nap in afternoon same as us. She’s just started nursery 4 afternoons a week.
She’s 10 and half months old.

It's the right time for her to cut her third nap so it sounds right that she'd having 2 a day, around 10 and 1.30. Xx

Thanks , I thought so . My only concern was her naps are so short that she’s so tired by bedtime and so grumpy without the third nap.

Sounds like 2 naps are right and maybe push back 1.30 one to 2.30 so there’s more sleep pressure and she might sleep for a bit longer? My LO sleeps at 9.30 and at 2.30 roughly (I follow cues too)

Mine also just started nursery.
At home I used to give her 2 1.5hr naps 9ish then 2ish
But since starting nursery she only has 30 minute naps 3x a day.
I'm thinking nursery is probably quite overstimulating and tiring at the beginning and hopefully she'll settle into a pattern soon.

At 10 months old, babies only need around 12 to 16hrs of sleep a day. If she's doing 12hrs at night and around 30 to 40mins of day sleep 3 times a day she is getting enough sleep. But as others have suggested, the 3rd nap should he dropped to help with the sleep pressure.
