My toddler won’t take medicine. He needs it. I’ve tried to sneak it in all sorts of foods and drinks - he can tell.
I’m having trouble holding him down and squirting it in his mouth. I’m afraid to hurt him or traumatize him.
The nurse line keeps telling me to hide it in stuff but HE ALWAYS KNOWS!!
He’s 2 - please help this tired stressed out momma. 😞

Cut a hole through empty yoghurt/fruit pouch thing and put syringe through hole maybe? 😣

Talk to him about it. Tell him, "We have to take your medicine to help you feel better. Do you want to wash it down with water or milk?" Then use a syringe and squirt it in his cheek little by little. After each squirt, give him a sip of his drink. When he's done with the dose, celebrate and praise him. Make it fun.
If that doesn't work, add sprinkles. Mix it in yogurt or applesauce (let him choose) then add sprinkles on top.
