Hey lovely mamas!
My 6 month old girl has no teeth still and for the last week her sleep pattern is like none existent anymore I’m sticking to the same routine with her last feed of the night and the same bedtime but she is waking more frequently whereas before she would sleep through til 6-7am ish. When she wakes during the night I will give her another feed and check her nappy etc but she really struggles to go back to sleep so the last few nights I’ve resorted to putting her in the bed with me and she will eventually settle but after a looong time and I’m talking hours. She has her last feed of the day between 8-8:30pm. Could this be regression or teething? I’m just so tired 😴

My little one is doing exactly the same! The last week or so he's stopped sleeping through out the night and has become a nightmare to get back to sleep and it's just come out of nowhere but I think it's more regression for him as his teething has calmed down the last few weeks

My little boy is the exact same. I feel like I have a newborn again. He still has no teeth so I thought it was that but the more I read the more I seem to think it’s a regression. We are 9 days in now and I am drained

thank god someone else is going through it too! I’m sooo drained too. She’s got no teeth and I can’t see any sign of them coming through either she’s dribbling a lot more and whiny and really hard to settle her for naps too 😔

I would avoid feeding if they normally sleep through. Otherwise they may get used to the calories in the night and yiu may find it really hard to break the habit again.
I also do not change nappy unless there is a poo as it makes it harder to then settle back to sleep. I don't need to check, if there's a poo, you know 🤣

I see you mentioned being hard for naps too. Could it be that they need more awake time?

literally like a newborn again feeding at all sorts of times throughout the night. I thought we had cracked it with her sleeping all night and I was loving having some time to myself in the evenings thinking it’s okay because she will sleep through. I completely agree I haven’t kept track of how many days in we are now with this just so drained by it 🫠

I try to avoid feeding if I can as I don’t want him to get used to it however once or twice he has needed feeding. I also think it’s harder with the lighter nights as no matter what I try i cannot seem to get the room pitch black. He went to bed at 8 tonight and hasn’t woken yet🤞

I know what you mean but I do find sometimes the bottle will settle her to go back to sleep. She was in bed by 9 had a little stir but lucky enough hasn’t woke up but it’s usually at silly o’clock she’ll wake and then it’s a struggle to go back to sleep well lately

I’ve been using white noise all night and cuddling him in close when he wakes, I walk around the bedroom rocking him in my arms. He’s ended up in bed with me at 3am most nights😂 I’ve started to bring the nuby to bed with me again just like when he was a newborn. We go on holiday in 2 weeks I’m praying it’s better by then🙃

I am a bit worried that tbh! I don’t want her to start getting used to the feeds at silly o’clock again like you say could make her then go the other way with sleep. Yeah I won’t change her nappy unless poo too as then she will defo wake up. With the nap times I go on her que of when she starts to get sleepy after being awake for around 1.5-2 hour mark but she will cry and fidget but I know she need to nap.

My boy has been teething since 6 weeks old and is nearly 7 months and he still haven't got any and doesn't look like he's got any coming anytime soon but if the teething is upsetting her maybe that's what's causing the lack of sleep I always use them fruit dummies and freeze fruit puree and it works like a dream for my boy

My little boy has never been a good napper. He only tends to nap cuddled into me or in the car or pram. I can follow sleep signals and some days he doesn’t last 1.5 hours other days he can do 6 hours with no nap. No 2 days are the same. I’ve tried the routine with naps and we both just end up more stressed out. I just keep telling myself he’s a baby and one say he will eventually learn and I do secretly love the fact he still wants to cuddle into me 💙

And I feel for you with being tired because I'm the same with him at the point not sleeping all night it's killing me but hopefully she will be back in routine soon for you fingers crossed 🤞🏼

yeah white noise is a god send! Yeah I try rocking, shushing, cuddling in… and then I get so shattered it will resort to her being in bed with me. She will sleep fine contact napping but I’m trying to cut this out as I need to sleep on her own in her bed😂 I hope so for you too!

Mines been exactly the same way and I've put it down to teething because as soon as I give him gel/teething granules he calms right down. He's definitely in discomfort, it lasted 4 days and today he napped better and has been in bed with no wake yet 🤞🏻 a regression would last longer I think

Son is the same for a few weeks now & nursing barley helps it’s like he’s having nightmares 🥺

I wonder if it may be that she doesn’t have enough sleep pressure, as that can cause difficulty with achieving naps and more frequent night waking. Also the fast that she will sleep once she has the comfort of being snuggled up to you can indicate her sleep pressure is too low.
1.5 hours is a very short wake window for a baby of this age, they’re often able to manage more like 2.5-3 hours (although of course all babies are different).
How long is her wake window before bed? They usually say this should be the longest one of the day and that can help with a better nights sleep. We make sure our little girl’s last nap ends no later than 4:30, then do bath and bedtime at 7:30 so she usually has a last wake window of around 3h15 x

do you breastfeed? It's easier to send someone else to sooth baby. I find that if I go he just wants biob but if dad goes he has more chances of soothing him.
Those wake windows seem a bit short for this age. I've found that the last half hour of the wake window, he is very grumpy and hard to entertain. If I breastfeeding he goes to sleep but if I don't he fights the nap. So he needs more awake time to go down happy

My little boys been like this from he cut his first tooth 5 weeks ago, I thought we would get a break for few days and was stricter with naps/wake windows because his form was alot better in the day but still woke at night & started the 5.30am wake up club too lol we have a baby black out blind and an actual black out blind and I swear the light still comes through so blamed that too 🤦♀️🤦♀️ but after 4 wakens last night and into bed this morning I felt a sharp wee tooth poking through this morning 🤦♀️🥹 who knows when we will get another full nights sleep again lol my eyes sting more than ever now 🙈
