Is anyone else’s little one still using their hands while eating? She’s 50/50 with her fork/spoon during mealtimes and her hands. We keep reminding her but she sometimes results to even putting food on her fork to eat WITH her hands 😅
Any tips at all to encourage eating with utensils more, or any exercises we could try, as it could be a fine motor thing?

We got some soft foods (bread banana strawberries) that would go easily on the fork and did it as a race between me and him to see who could get one on the fork first. Then move onto harder foods (sausages chips and chicken). We did it as a game at first then he got the hand of it for his meals. As for the spoon we had cups of water and had to get the water from cup 1 to cup 2, also helps with pouring!

It's still hit and miss here (although no more yogurt with fingers thank goodness 😂)
He usually will use a fork if I give him a big fork like we use. And to be fair he is very careful with it!

We’re a mixture she can do it but if she’s tired she wants me to feed her or uses her hands I don’t mind so much she’s no where near as messy as she used to be and she’s still 2. I remember eating out with a 8 year old who used their hands and were covered in food still gives me the ick now 😂

You’ve probably already tried but my daughter prefers using a normal fork instead of her little ones x

Thanks ladies!
