12 week hospital dating scan

I suffer from white coat and have high blood pressure. I have an agreement with my midwife to take readings before. But I’m nervous that at the 12 weeks dating scan they will want to take my blood pressure. Is this something they do at the scan?? Nervous mum to be here

I think they do, but just take a reading before you go & explain to them that you have white coat syndrome & that you took 3 readings before hand. Of course, if they're high at home, but you know you're feeling anxious, just say this to them and if anything, they might ask you to just check it every now and then when you're not feeling so anxious. I used to be a clinician myself, and I had patients who had horrible white coat syndrome & we noted on our system & just encouraged them to do readings at home for us but to keep an eye out for tell, tell signs of a raised bp

I did too and did my reading the morning I went for appointments. I just took a photo and put it in badger notes.

They always did blood pressure readings but they also knew I had white coat syndrome. By the end of my first pregnancy my BP was normal even in the hospital as I got so used to it.

If it was ever high in the appointment they’d honestly just say check again at home, they always accepted what I told them it was at home without issues.

I have white coat too. Yes they take your blood pressure at each scan. I always told them I have white coat syndrome so they need to do a manual read rather than digital and to talk about things to you to help you feel a bit better , also if you have a happy place , breathe and go there when having blood pressure taken!! Also agree with everyone else, take a read before hand and take a picture of it, good luck !

I have white coat syndrome, they didn’t take my blood pressure when I had routine scans!

My midwife and delivery midwife were absolutely fantastic! They used to take my blood pressure manually because the sight of the blood pressure machine would cause it to rocket, along with my heart rate xx

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

Almost 37 weeks + told to do another growth scan

I just had my second to last doctor’s appointment this morning, and my OB told me she wants me to do another growth scan because my belly is measuring small. She says it’s probably just because I’m a smaller woman, but they like to be safe. It’s hard to hear though, since I just did one a couple months ago.

I did this with my firstborn around this time of pregnancy, so I do think I just carry smaller (even though I don’t feel like I look “small” at all). My first baby was 6lbs 15oz when she was born at 41 weeks + 2 days. I’m having this baby at 39 weeks on April 7. I hope she’s still at least 6lbs.

Anyone have any stories similar to this?
