Is he starting to grow out of it maybe?

He should be ok if he’s strong enough to get himself there. I think a lot of babies start to choose their preferred position around now. When we put our first in his own cot at 5.5 months he loved the space so much he started sleeping on his front 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 still sleeps on his front now and he is almost 3 x

he can fully turn over front to back ok, I just worry that he settles in a position where he cannot breathe.

I might start trying him in his cot for his day naps as that will provide him with the space as you say. I’m just not ready for him to go into his own room/cot yet, he’s still so little to me at only just 4 months, I had wanted to wait for the 6 month mark.

I do have a travel cot that he used for holiday that’s bigger that I could try in our room for a little longer x

If he can roll front to back I wouldn’t worry honestly. I don’t think you need to put him in his cot yet was just a heads up he might start front sleeping when you do! More space sometimes means they start moving around more x

Do you use a sleeping bag? I’ve heard they can make it more difficult for them to roll

My LO is just over 4 months and has also started sleeping on his side, we go through about 30 mins of him trying to get comfortable on his side before he’ll go to sleep 🥲 I read online that as long as he’s rolling himself into that position then it’s fine to leave him because he can get himself out of it if he needs to. Agree though the first few nights I was checking on him constantly.
