Pampers - leaky nappy! Help?

Hey lovelies! Any advice with nappies? First time mum and still learning - only 16 days in ☺️ my little guy is wearing first size pampers protection nappies but every day he is weeing/leaking through them! I always make sure the willy is pointing down and fasten the nappy properly etc what could be going wrong?

Hi.. Check the ruffles on the side to make sure they are open!

Not experienced this and also using Pampers...

Have you made sure ruffles are open like Sonal said x

Thanks both I will double check I’m doing that next change ☺️

Im 9 days in, so feel like its maybe yet to happen to me 🤣

Have only had one instance of a leak but that is because his vest was too tight thus impacting the ability for the nappy to expand fully as the wee is absorbed. Also check ruffles as others have said.

We found pampers to leak too, and occasionally the Aldi ones have too. We've been using Sainsbury's own brand for a week and have had no leaks so far

Never like pampers when I had my first I used them for a while but found they leak all the time so I switched and always used Asda little angels brand and I'm now on number baby number 6 and will be using them too

Have you tried moving up to size 2? We had lots of leaks especially if the Willy wasn’t pointing down!

Size up, my little one is already using size 3 (sainsburys brand) since 5 weeks old. He is average size, bang on 50 percentile

I have tested a few nappies and swear by Tesco own! They are the only ones that haven’t leaked for us! X

Same we hated pampers went best with Sainsburys own asdas not too bad eithet

We found pampers size 1 to leak too. They seem to be quite big. We are using Aldi newborn they are quite a bit smaller and haven’t had any leaks. As with all nappies just make sure the ruffles on the side are out :) but yeah Pampers I think come up big so if you have a small baby may be due to that :)

Thank you so much everyone!! I will try some other brands like you’ve said - Tesco, Sainsbury’s etc and maybe will size up because he has put a lot of weight on since birth and he is still smallish but very long limbs and torso so I think it could be a size issue too…. You are all amazing thanks!! Xxxx

An update - I switched to Tesco own nappies and not a single leak…. 🧐 haha thanks all! Xxx

When you had a baby and you decided to breast feed did you feel that nurses were pushing formula?

My baby is not even 2 days old and she's been nursing super well according to the lactation specialist. She was born by c section so weight loss is expected to be higher than by vaginal birth due to the fluids given. I'm booked into see my doctor for the baby and I and lactation consultant at the doctors yet this nurse won't stop asking if I want to give formula so she can pee more and gain back her weight fast.

You just changed your baby’s diaper, but realise you have to use the bathroom. Do you wash your hands..

Should I make a poll series on hand washing because I’ve been here long enough to know it’s not happening as much as it should lol

Are we just staying in bed for 12 hours a night?

Right now I’m going to bed when my baby does at 8pm and staying there until his morning wake usually around 7. Does anyone else do this? He sleeps on top of me and usually wakes up and just crawls back on me when I try to put him down. What are your tips for sneaking away?

Reducing formula feeds

I've just been told by my nursery that they wont give bottles of/and formula from 1 year one, my little boys 1 in 3 weeks.
Looking for advice on how to reduce his formula intake?
Hes loves both food and milk 🫣 I think he will drink cows milk so that's not the issue im more concerned about the fact that hes in a routine with his bottles.

Baby won’t go in pram

Hi my 9 week old hates the pram. She screams the entire time she’s in there. I’m at a loss. She’s never liked it. She will go in the baby carrier happily but is completely against the pram. Any advice

Am I doing things wrong?

My friend and her mum just came round to see me and my 5 month old and every time they tried to hold her she cried with real tears. She does this with everyone at the moment unless its me or my partner or my sister for some reason. My friend who has no kids said you need to leave the room as she spends too much time with you and the mum said I need to spend time away from her regularly which i said I can't as a breastfeed. They asked how we slept to which I said co sleep and she wakes quite a lot in the night and the mum said that her crying with others is my fault, that i need to be tougher and let her cry as she will struggle when shes goes to nursery. Friend also doesnt get why i cant go out in the evenings which i said is because of breastfeeding and cosleeping and to be honest I just don't want to. Doothers agree with them? I dont leave my baby at all, 1 hour max with my husband and I sleep with her and cuddle her when she cries in night. Am I doing it wrong and will she struggle at nursery when shes one? 😭
