Hello!
I’m absolutely lost in how much expressed breast milk to give my four month old.
She has always breastfed and only a handful of times been given expressed breastmilk.
We’re having a family member watch over her soon and I’m lost on how much milk I should be putting in a bottle for her.
Any ideas?

I’m like this too, my girl will take anywhere between 4-5oz of pumped milk, she’s 3 months old xx

Well with breast milk it’s however much they want as they can’t overfeed in breast milk really that what I got told by a midwife and health visitor

I give my baby one feed a day of expressed milk, and generally just give her as much as she needs/takes. She’s 3.5 months and usually has about 120-160ml of milk on the pumped bottle feed.

I’d suggest having bottles between 150-180ml for them. It allows them to leave some but gives plenty of milk. I did this with my first loads & have done a few this time but less.

Totally depends on the time of day for me!
If you’re expressing when baby is being fed a bottle, try to keep track of how much you’re getting at different times of the day. For example, I did a KIT day at work and expressed 3 times while there - around 10am I got 200ml, 1pm 120ml, 4pm 100ml. So I let my husband know to give roughly that amount in the bottle.
If you’re just expressing after a feed to build supply, maybe instead you could for one day just express before the feed and give baby that milk straight away in the bottle instead. Then you can jot down how much you expressed at that time of day.

My little boy feeds 10 times in a 24hr period I was making up 120ml bottles but he was always leaving 30 ml so I currently make up 90ml bottles these are for when his dad has him xx forgot to add that he’s 14 weeks xx
