Hi - I used to be very jealous of people with babies doing long stretches at night. And bam! My LG did 7h tonight. And then back to sleep another 4h!! I didn’t wake her up (I hesitated but my husband adviced me not to so she could consolidate her sleeping patterns) and I am amazed tbh because she is EBF and always thought BF babies don’t do long stretches. LG put on 1.8kg at 7 weeks, which GP said was great.
Question to moms with babies doing long stretches: how do you ensure baby gets all the calories their were getting before? Do you feed more often during the day? I would her to keep that healthy pace she has I guess

I don’t breastfeed, so slightly different.
But my little one sleeps through the night now (she’s 9 weeks), and to make sure she gets enough formula in the day I have upped her oz to 6 each bottle. She’s a big girl and never lost birth weight and has consistently grown at a steady rate. I have no issues letting her sleep as long as she wants at night x

You don't need to offer any extra feeds. Just continue to feed on demand, baby will get what they need. I will say though, and I don't want to put a negative turn on your post but remember this may have been a complete fluke and isn't necessarily a new trend. Hopefully it is but from my experience, baby sleep is the most unpredictable thing in the world!

I breastfeed and my baby was doing similar long stretches, often slept 6hrs from week 3 and - once did 8 hrs - although the vaccine and/or current leap seems to have set things back a little, but he still does 2x 4hr stretches. I just feed on demand during the day and he is definitely getting more than enough milk - he’s above 91st centile and is very big - already full filling out 3-6 month clothes at 9 weeks old!

Hi I EBF and my little girl is 9 weeks, been doing 6/7 hour stretches for past 2 weeks and I just like others have said, feed on demand throughout the day. It averages that she feeds roughly every 2 hours I would say. As long as they are gaining weight leave them to sleep 💗
