My boy is 9 months and has always liked the car seat but suddenly seems to really dislike it. He has been crawling a few weeks so I thought maybe he just wants to be out and about but he loves his pram still.
We got the cybex cloud t seat. I removed the newborn insert a while back and he’s currently 20 pounds so technically it should be fine but he just seems really squished … anyone else had the same issue?

You can lift that head rest part up using the lever that is behind the head rest. This will make a difference and provide more room within the seat as it adjusts where the straps are within the seat. Youtube has videos on how to do this.

My little one is 13 months and still fits in her with loads of room… do you have a pic of what he looks like in it? Have you moved the head rest up?x

Have you adjusted the straps recently?

The straps should be level with the shoulders or a max of 2cm below. Is the how it currently is?

Ahhh thank you so much! I havnt adjusted the straps since I took the newborn bit out so that is probably it 🙈 they look like there in the right place from looking at him but I bet there too low .. will have a play around 😊

There is a FB group - UK car seat safety and they do fit checks if you upload a pic :)

They’re not too big until the head reaches the top.
On the other hand 6-9 months is when you can switch to the next seat up.
Toddler seats is safer than the baby seat and as long as their head control is good they can switch, this is usually 6-9 months of age.

a baby capsule is usually safer for a baby than the next stage seat - depending on what seats are being compared

I just read quite an extensive article on the subject. The conclusion of it is that a rear facing toddler seat is the safest option when baby is big enough, even if they haven’t outgrown the baby seat.
The article basically said to move baby to a toddler seat as early as is safe, aka baby has enough head control.
But of course if you have the safest baby seat vs the least safe toddler seat, the baby seat might win.
But you can do the same comparison about everything.
Basically reach the seat you. Ut.

id love to read the article if you have the link? That just seems to go against everything that I have previously read so am really interested in why they have come to that conclusion

the article was in Swedish and in a physical news paper (visiting my parents) so sadly I can’t share.
But I was shocked when i read it, and now I’m off to by a new seat when I’m back in the uk.

Adjusted the headrest and straps today and he’s so much better! Thank you everyone 😊❤️
