So they’ve made burning one a hate crime, and it’s not protected under our rights to protest in the same way our right to burn an American flag is protected as a form of protest.

yeah it doesn’t specifically say “burning an israeli flag is illegal” but it does say that it’s “racial discrimination” and that the flag is a symbol of “the jewish race” and racial hate crimes are federally illegal so that would definitely imply that it’s illegal, right?

Is this case related to that lawyer who was charged with arson? He burned a flag during protests at Columbia last year…and now they’re interpreting vandalism as a hate crime? Is that right? Very scary if true.

this one is about a jewish woman who had the israeli flag tied around her neck like a cape at a protest and another woman pulled on it or it got caught on her or something and it pulled around her neck a little and then the other woman was arrested for assault and the jewish woman claimed it was because she’s jewish and therefore it’s a hate crime

But to answer the original question, no it is not illegal to burn or desecrate the Israeli flag. I still don’t see where anyone has been convicted of a hate crime—but this administration is definitely trying to see if the court goes for it.

A state and a race are not the same thing. Intertwining the Jewish people with the state of Israel is a mistake. The state is the government making terrible choices, it’s nothing to do with religion and it shouldn’t cloak itself in that for protection.
