Struggling

Hi I’m here to get some advice I’ve been really struggling with my mental health more after having my second child and going through a divorce I’ve been so detached from my baby most of the time I have thoughts that my kids will be better of without me and I know this sounds silly but I don’t feel like me anymore I feel like everyday I’m just getting by that’s it I don’t feel any form of happiness anymore all I feel is sadness and being a single mum with no support I’m not sure what else to do as most nights after putting my kids down I just cry and hope that things get better but they just get worse most days I don’t eat or shower or go out I just stay home doing nothing even just going to the shop I struggle to do now even just writing this makes me feel I’m not a good mum because most mums tell me that they love it and what not but ever since I’ve had children I’ve felt worse than I did before having kids. If you have any advice for me to try to at least attempt to make me feel better please don’t hesitate to write it please I will literally try anything at this point.

You are a good mom. The idea that your kids would be better without you is wrong. You are their everything. Even feeling detached is sometimes a normal part of parenting. the fact that you feel like a bad mom means you're a good one.

Getting out of the house is important. Going for a walk even would likely brighten your mood some even if just for a short time. If you have a stroller, put them in it and just walk.

I know that seems like then advice but that's what I do when I'm feeling really low

Make a doctor's appointment and speak with your doctor. Ppd is so common for mommies and there is help out there. Please dont be afraid to reach out for help

I’m so sorry you are going through this! I have been there and managed to survive and currently on meds and healings. I just want you to know you’re not alone in this. When a woman has a baby, absolutely everything changes including our bodies, our emotions, our daily lives, even how we see ourselves. It’s a huge shift, and on top of that, if you’re grieving, it makes the weight even heavier. Grief doesn’t pause just because we’re moms now, and motherhood doesn’t pause while we grieve either. It’s a lot to carry, and it’s okay to admit that. Please be gentle with yourself, and remember that you don’t have to rush through the pain or have it all figured out right now. One step, one breath, one day at a time is more than enough. 💜

Also I invite you to join my postpartum emotional support group for mothers who need daily reassurance that they are not alone, if you’re interested.

I’m going to make an assumption you aren’t on any medication. In which case, my advice would be to reach out to your GP and tell them you’re struggling, just like you shared with us.

My kids are 3.5 and 1.5 and Ive had periods where I don’t even recognise myself and no motivation to take care of myself. Taking antidepressants helped me to move forward and not feel the lows so low.

There will come a time where you feel good again, but you’ve got a lot going on right now and understandably you’re feeling a certain way. And I can tell you I love my kids but I don’t always love parenting. I’m glad I’ve gone back to work so I get a break! You’re a good mum pouring your all into your kids.

I’m guessing you aren’t eating great at the moment either, so get some multivitamins in you too and stay hydrated.

One step at a time!

I struggled with post partum hard with my son and felt the same way, but I’m telling you don’t give up. It’s okay to reach out for help I had to get medication before I felt better and once I started to help myself I found my strength to be who I needed to be. Don’t give up! Your not a bad mother your just hurting and that is okay.

My advice!
Talk with your doctor about what you’re feeling sometimes just being honest with them opens doors to real support.
Therapy or counseling can give you a safe space to release and heal.
Find someone who understands ex: another mom, a friend, or a group where you don’t have to explain yourself, just be.
Take care of your body the best you can. Eat when you’re able, drink water, and rest when possible.
Speak it out!!! Even journaling or voice notes can lighten what feels so heavy inside.
You don’t have to do it all at once. Even choosing one step is enough to start lifting some of the weight. And I promise, you deserve to feel supported in this. 🤍

I would make an appointment with the GP. In the meantime a lot of self care is needed. Definitely try and shower everyday, good food daily walks it all adds up. Sorry you're going through a bad time. Time is a great healer you will feel happy again

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Strange question

Hello. I would identify myself as asexual but yes i am married and i have a child. But now that ive had my baby. I think its solidified that im done having sex. I feel bad as my partner keeps asking me but i just dont want to. Any advice on what i can do? Any other asexual moms out there? I guess this could be confusing but im not huge on being bound by a label. I have just always felt it represented me best since highschool.
