Hello
My little boy is 11lbs now and taking 150ml every 2 hours but not sleeping any more than 2 hours in a row at night, without waking up for next feed. Im getting an hours sleep by the time ive fed him. Everyone else seems to say their little ones are sleeping longer stretches at night now but my boy wakes up hungry and sometimes won’t take all the milk , feeling terribly sleep deprived now and for the first time last night I actually had to let him cry to take a break. Hope anyone can offer any support. I’m wondering at which point I should consider a sleep consultant. Thank you x

Is he falling asleep drinking the bottle? Maybe it’s time to up a teat size?

Is he definitely hungry? Not gassy, cold, uncomfortable etc? How does he sleep during the day?

Aww Maria, this is so tough! What is he wearing at night? We found that once we properly swaddled by putting arms in a sleeping bag (we used love to dream sleeping bags) it made soo much difference to sleep. Hope it makes the difference to your little boy too!

We give my wee boy a bigger feed before bed which seems to help him sleep longer
If he’s falling asleep on the bottle the milk might not be coming fast enough for him so might be worth going up a teat size

Does he take a dummy? You could try a dummy and resettle it he’s not hungry. But like others have said, make sure he’s not cold, windy, uncomfortable etc.
are you waking to his grunts and groans or is it actual crying? X

Could you maybe try changing his formula as maybe is not filling enough. I know some formulas have a hungry baby type that might help fill him more for longer xx

Oh I'm sorry muma! I don't think it's abnormal if he doesn't seem in pain but it's definitely exhausting so sending you lots of love and hugs.
My advice would be,:
- does he drink larger amounts during his day feeds? Try and up how much he drinks in the day as much as possible.
- I know you said he didn't like being swaddled but the love to dream ones aren't too restrictive but keep their hands from waking themselves up. You could look for a second hand one on vinted and see if he likes them.
- when he wakes try and change his nappy ect just to make sure he's fully awake to take the milk.
- maybe look into active sleep - babies are very noisy so maybe it's that 🤷
Good luck x

That is rough, I can't imagine how tired you are! I would try upping his feed to 180ml (Aptamil say 180ml and 6 scoops from 8 weeks) and upping his teat size. My 9 week old went up to a mam bottle size 2 teat last week. Sometimes he stirs in the night and I pop a dummy in he falls back off. He also sleeps longer stretches when he's warmer, he's in a 1.5 tog sleeping bag with a vest and sleep suit most nights, sometimes no vest if it's been warmer during the day. I hope you get some sleep soon!

The size 2 teats for Tommee Tippee helped my boy take more in (we still use both 1 and 2 now); at 9 weeks mine was only taking about 150ml also though but with longer stretches between. Could you up your daytime bottles slightly and pace feed across the hour the bottle is okay for? It’s not ideal but it might help get a little bit extra in him - we often feed half a bottle, wait 10/15 mins, and then do the rest x

I was using the 1 teat from tomee tippee and she was doing the same, I changed to size2 at 3 weeks old and it was the best decision she now gets about 3-4 ounces and sleeps so much better

I feel you.... I'm not able to get him to sleep for more than 10-20 mins in daytime unless he's in the carrier. He won't nap from 7-11pm, sometimes as long as to 1am then at night wakes every hour.
He does seem windy and this unsettled sleep got worse from 6 weeks, and coincided with when he stopped pooing so frequently...which is normal at this age but I wonder if they are linked. We tried infacol, and not sure if it helps. I'm going to try Kendamil comfort next.
It's exhausting so means we're not in any routine ourselves, and then he's not getting a routine either, so not sure if that's contributing.
