Recently waking again at night… sometimes 1am, sometimes 3am. Everytime for a few hours.
Killing us off!’
How long does your LO nap for during the day? We have a 2 hour nap 12.30-2.30/3 pm.
So maybe I need to cap that now.

Wow a 2 hour nap?! I wonder if this is your problem.
When I saw a sleep consultant in April she said 98% of the time early wakes/split nights are because of too much sleep over 24 hours. The nap generally is dropped by 2-2.5 yrs on average.
My LO has been on 30 mins nap for about 3 months now and I’m just starting to wonder if we’re getting close to stopping altogether as he’s started waking 530-6 screaming.

There’s a two year sleep regression, we’re pretty sure we’re in the throes of that now.

We had this exact problem a few weeks ago, daughter was waking up at 1am and wasn't going back down until 3-4.30am. It was awful! She was having a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day which she has now fully dropped and sleep has gone back to normal. She's going down around 7.30pm and waking at 7.30am.
If she does fall asleep in the day, I cap it at 30 minute maximum otherwise she wakes in the middle of the night. It's only nursery where she has a nap though but I think that's because she's just ran ragged.
Dropping the nap was a huge adjustment (mainly for me) but we've all gotten used to it now and it's actually great to have the freedom to go out and do activities whenever without having to rush back home for nap time.

Also to add, I learnt that there's such thing as 2 year old molars so your little one could also be teething!
