Hey mamas!! How do you handle naps for your little ones? I’ve seen so many different recommendations: some say keep naps unswaddled with natural light and normal household noise, others say keep the room dark, swaddle, and use a sound machine.
Right now my baby will only nap on me, and I’d love to start getting at least one or two naps back in the bassinet. What’s worked for you and your babies? Any tips or routines that helped?

I use Koala Moon on YouTube, it’s super soothing and even has put me to sleep. But I’m also firm like hey we are going to cuddle or lay down together. For my toddler he has a pillow and blanket. My little one I have her in a sleeper or a little onesie. Shades drawn, fan in the bathroom going, koala moon playing in the background. Perfect nap setting for us ☺️

It's still very early, but for now, if you're happy with contact napping and it works, stick to it. You can try at least one nap a day in a dedicated sleep space but don't expect it to take right away, unless you're lucky. When they're bigger, and past the 4 month regression, you might have an easier time putting them down for naps consistently.
The specifics of a routine are really just about figuring out what works, but however you decide to implement it, try to keep it consistent. It doesn't have to be the same time necessarily, but the sequence of steps leading up to sleep are what signals sleep is coming, and that's what tends to help. Some babies prefer dark rooms, some don't (though I've read after 8 weeks they start producing their own melatonin, and can only do that in the dark - dark room worked for us so take from that what you like).
Just start with one nap a day and work from there. Baby has to spend time in the sleep space to feel secure and comfortable there, so give it time and patience.
