Pumping mamas help??

How many ounces does your exclusively breast milk fed baby drink? I have been exclusively nursing but I have pneumonia so I started taking an antibiotic. Baby is really allergic. Within a day she was covered in hives. Now I have to pump and give her frozen stash milk for 3 days and I have no idea how much to thaw and give her. I got a new prescription so now I'm waiting on the cough and bruised rib to heal. I'm guessing she will take 18 to 20? I'm so stressed😭

My baby drinks about 20-22 oz/day, but since you breastfeed your milk might be more fatty because it adapts to baby’s needs.

I exclusively pump and my baby consistently eats about that. Your estimate is probably spot on for your baby.

I believe if you needed to supplement with formula your baby would probably need more because formula can’t adapt at all so you have to give the baby more as they grow.

We supplemented with formula when my milk was slow to come in but I haven’t used any since she was about 3 weeks so I’m not sure how it would compare at this age now

Depends on their age? I do both, and he usually take 4 oz per feed every 3 hrs. He’s 3 mo

So far 3-4 oz per feed. She’s 3.5 months

Thank you so much ladies!!

I EBF but give a breastmilk bottle right before bed & in the middle of the night to make sure he gets a good feed because sometimes he’ll fall asleep nursing before he’s actually done. He’ll drink anywhere between 4-6oz, usually about 5oz at both those times. But during the day he’ll normally do 4oz every 2 hours.

My baby is almost 4 months and eats anywhere from 24-32 ounces in a day and is on breast milk only. It’s probably be best to give a bottle of 2 ounces and then just give an additional half ounce the first time to see at what point they are satisfied so as not to waste any milk

Exclusive pumping momma here, my 3 month old takes about 4oz per feeding every 2-3 hrs. Sometimes she may take an extra 1-2 oz as a ā€œtopperā€ lol. So some feedings she’ll take 5 or 6 oz

I exclusively pump and my daughter drinks about 28-30 ounces a day. She’s 16 weeks but has been drinking this amount for at least a month now.

She definitely came in on the high end around 30 ounces total y'all i had no idea I produced that much after underproducing for my first. Thank you for the input and peace of mind šŸ™

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Rant/WWYD

My sister (youngest, 24) has two kids, 4 & 1, and i (oldest, 30) just have my one who’s 6mo old right now, so i ask her for advice or call her to vent about things sometimes. Well im tired of her turning around and telling my other family members that I’m ā€œlosing my sh*t.ā€ Literally have not lost my sh*t nor have i ever freaked out to her about my baby, i just call her to talk and tell her what stage my baby is in or talk through how im feeling, but she chooses to tell people that im like a complete nutcase or something which worries me that my family is going to start being judgmental about me as a mother or looking at me funny like I’m some fragile ticking time bomb.

What would you do in this situation? I’m already pretty much decided that I’ll stop telling her anything about my struggles, but I’m almost at the point where i feel like it should be confronted because she, of all people, should understand what I’m going through.

Rapid cool/ hot shot method

Sorry if this sound stupid but how are we doing the hot shot method?
Are we boiling the kettle and letting it cool a little before adding to hot flask? Then with the cool water do you boil the kettle and leave it to cool right down before putting into another flask?
My baby brain is fried trying to work out the easiest way!

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!

when things get hard i have nothing not any support from my partner im convinced he doesn’t even love me anymore but thats another story
I have a 3 yo and a 2yo that are in bed sleeping only just now. I have a 1 yo that’s been sleeping from 8 o’clock to 10 o’clock. I just gave her her milk and she would’ve gone back to sleep if it wasn’t that
I lost her dummy earlier in the day when I went out
so now she won’t go back to sleep and she won’t accept any of the other dummy’s i have!šŸ˜”šŸ˜”and it’s 10 o’clock and I’m gonna be up until 3 o’clock with her and when she does want to go to sleep i won’t have any dummy to give her she will accept and she won’t sleep without it i just wanna cry šŸ˜”i have nobody to talk to and i feel so alone i get no support from anybody i’m so tired and i don’t feel well to top it offšŸ˜”
