My daughter has gone from sleeping through to now waking multiple times a night which I always feed back go sleep.
Now I’m trying to stop the feeding back to sleep because surely she doesn’t need it if she was sleeping through before and she’ll drink like 2oz at a time.
Tonight I tried to shh and pat and walk around to go back to sleep but nothing worked so ended up giving in and feeding her she was then straight to sleep!
I can’t let her cry because I have a 3 year old in bed so don’t want to take him.
We already use a white noice machine; I don’t know what to do?
I feel like a bloody failure because I’ve made this problem myself because of giving her the bottle straight away every wake up whereas I used to have a baby who slept through 😭
I’m not asking for the perfect full night sleep again I just want to be able to sleep more than 2/3 hours 😭

I dont think youre a failure, youre doing amazing. It sounds exactly the same as my little boy tonight. I just need sleep but hes up every 3 hours and I can get him down with shushing and a bum pat but wakes up very shortly afterwards. He used to sleep through the night, then used to wake up once in the night for a bottle. Tonight has been every 3 hours or sooner so im feeling defeated too but maybe its just a thing 🥲 xx

Is it a sleep regression? How long has it been going on for?

Totally normal for babies to still need feeding in the night. Same way they sometimes eat more or less in the day, this could be the same at night. If she’s hungry and eating I’d just feed her.

You’re not alone this was the exact same as my boy last night.

I’m the same and have had to start making a conscious effort to not feed every time she wakes. It’s hard as she doesn’t seem to sleep as deeply without so wakes again quickly, as you’ve described. Sometimes mine will take a dummy instead so may be worth a try? Though obv comes with its own issues down the line! Super hard with a toddler too I’m sure - hang in there!

We are EBF and also went from 10 hrs stretches to being up all the time and feeds back to sleep since the regression which started for us at 3.5 months. He’s 6 months next week and it finally feels like he is turning a corner, and has done a few nights with only two wake ups. Still feeding back to sleep for now as you can absolute torture yourself trying to get them back to sleep without feeding and get absolutely exhausted in the process and then often give up anyway. So I’d say it’s normal and maybe just give it a bit longer and see if things improve.
