What is a safe harness for a 7lb newborn so i can do contact naps around the house while keeping him up right? I think my current carrier is only suitable from 8lb onwards. I suspect its going to be a cloth wrap? But i dont know if there are easier options that i will be able to do by myself without having to google every time? TIA!

I’ve been using the momcozy carrier which is 7lbs and over but also been using the ryloo wrap which is really good x

Ring sling or cloth wrap

I would see if you have a sling library near you who can advise you the safest ones and can help you fit it, they’re amazing you can try on multiple different slings and can also rent one for a month to try out
If you don’t like it after a week or so you can go swap it and keep going until you find one you like over that month x

My boy was 5lb when he was born and used the material slings from a week old so wouldn’t have been anywhere near 7lb, once you’ve done the material ones a couple times you’ll get it, I actually found it easier to put on by myself than a clip carrier x

The lillebaby dragon fly is a solid one. Its like a soft wrap but goes on like a tshirt. Love it.
Then my go to outside of the house or when im really busy with house stuff is my happy baby onbuhimo- because that carrier can be used to front carry from newborn (as long as baby is 7lbs+) until theyre like 1! BUT you can back carry them without compromising their hios or spine and they get to have their head lined with yours and aee everything! So you dont world face them in the front! We used it until our daughter was about 2.5 and now we use it with our 2nd!

I’m using the izmi wrap, it’s passed the safety standards and has a good guide on how to use safely. I think momcozy do a newborn size carrier also if you’d prefer that like the one everyone is using.

Thank you everyone so much for your comments will be trying out various ones of your suggestions at a try on service :) x
