My 4 yr old went from eating everything to eating nothing. Or she used to devour pasta with meat sauce and now she only wants buttered noodles š¤¦š»āāļø Weāve cut out snacks in the afternoon and moved dinner up earlier if sheās hangry. Thereās still some nights where she wonāt eat a ton but weāve started giving her kids shakes that have protein, veggies and stuff in them on the nights she wonāt eat much. Iām hoping itās a phase

I had to stop giving my daughter snacks until after dinner she has to eat a good amount of dinner like 25-50% to get snacks it depends on the meal

We've moved up dinner time to like 4:30-5 and I get my kids involved in meal planning, grocery shopping, etc. It gets them more excited most days. My son woke up this morning and first thing he said was "my turn for dinner today? Nachos right?" š
My 4yo is the hungry hungry hippo so when I pack him lunch in the morning I double whatever I'm making and save half for when he gets home. He'll eat that and a snack and be good until dinner. Otherwise it's "I'm hungry" every 10 minutes after you've given him one of everything. Lol

Same. Drop all snacks

We donāt give snacks at least 2-3 hours before dinner. That usually helps but Sometimes he still wonāt eat much. If he doesnāt eat his plate of food, he doesnāt get dessert. I leave it up to him to decide from there.

Neither of my kids have been big dinner(super)eaters at this age, theyāve both preferred a later small-medium sized breakfast, larger lunch & about the same for dinner as they did for breakfast. Itās only weird to me bc Iāve never eaten breakfast, no to tiny lunch, then full dinner. Everyone is kinda different in their eating needs, so as parents itās best to try writing down everything(meals & snacks) they eat for a week or two & calculating it all as a whole & compare it to what they should be getting of things like protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals etc
In my experience itās always been about spot on, even if they donāt necessarily get those things every day, their body may only want them every other day or something. Iām one of the minorities in their 40ās who never endured a āclean your plateā rule, still today I eat exactly what I want when my body craves it. I prob ate breakfast like twice last year, lunch maybe 6xās, Iām not a snacker, Iām still meeting my nutritional needs.š¤·š»āāļø
