Feeling left out

My MIL is a good person but recently some of her acts bother me.

I am currently not working and staying home to take care of my baby, since I have given birth I have tried many different methods to make my baby sleep better but she is not a good sleeper, she wakes up many times at night and I am exhausted! I only sleep good when my husband is home.

My husband needs to wake up at 4am to get to work so obviously he needs to sleep early.
On weekends he wakes up at night to stay with our baby so I can get some sleep.

I mentioned the above just to give an idea about our life for the past 11 months šŸ˜….

Soo whenever my MIL sees us, she tells her son OMG you look so tired, your eyes are red! You are not getting enough sleep! (Because he wakes up early to go to work) And she never asks how I am doing, if I am getting enough sleep or not!

Sometimes in family gatherings I talk about how hard sleep deprivation is and how I am struggling with that, the only thing my MIL says whenever I talk about that topic ā€œall my kids slept through the night, I never had that problemā€

I am living away from my family and i miss being around ppl who cared about me, my husband is the only one who is supportive and tries his best to stay with our baby when he has the chance, sometimes they both go out so i can have some time alone or i go out and they stay home.

My MIL sees how tired I look all the times but never shows any emotions or bothers to ask if i need help!

Am I a drama queen? šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜šŸ˜

No not at all, that would really bother me too. Yes fine he may have to get up for work early but you both bought the child in to the world so it’s only fair that the hard bits are shared. Being a mother doesn’t have a clock off time so it’s just as hard (defo harder) than most other jobs. And I guarantee you they probably didn’t sleep through the night but she’s probably completely forgotten all of the hard stuff lol

@Sarah thank you!
It drives me crazy how women who went through pregnancy, childbirth and raising children treat each other like that 😭

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🄲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🄰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Did I overreact?

I have had 3 c sections, recently had a wisdom teeth removal (4) to be exact and all my mom did was visit the day BEFORE and then she only sent 1 text. She has NEVER spent one full day with me and doesn’t acknowledge my achievements much. She just isn’t there when I need her to be. She claims she’s always working but she lives like 7 minutes away! she can come help with the kids so my husband can have break? we don’t ask her for much and she only sees the kids 1-2 a month. She also didn’t visit with my last c section. I told her that she should’ve gotten the abortion when she had the chance with me because why would you have me and neglect me emotionally? To not actually give me a present father in my life. I am very angry all she does is disappoint me. She only wants to show up for certain people in the family and I just want to grab her and shake her and ask her why can’t she be a good present mother?
