So I have been in active labor since 12/20. But my water didn’t break or anything I just kept have contractions which a lot of people will say oh no ur just have Braxton hicks. Well I wasn’t. I finally went to the hospital last night (not the hospital I’m giving birth at btw) and I’m 33 weeks pregnant. I was complaining about the pain in my back, and my pelvis and the pressure I was feeling in my coochie. The doctor gave me a low dose of pain meds 5mg which last month they gave me the same pain meds but 10mg. And sent me home with those. After a while they stopped working. So I’m still in the hospital in pain and crying my baby heart rate was 200, my blood pressure was really high and no one cared. My husband finally spoke up and said something asking them to discharge me because they wasn’t helping me or paying any attention to my needs. Finally the doctor came back in and she checked my cervix I was 1cm dilated and my contractions was every 4 mins. She finally decided to do something. She gave me meds to stop my contractions and no matter what pain meds she gave me I was still in a lot of pain. I walked in the hospital with a 10 and left with a 7. She gave me oxycodone and told me to go home and relax. I’m so happy I see my doctors on Tuesday because they was some bullshii and I’m so glad I’m not giving birth there because they clearly don’t care. (Their OBGYN office told me they couldn’t take me until I was 4 months pregnant; I never heard of that)

This is horrible. I'm so sorry you went through it. If something feels wrong again, maybe you can try a different hospital? They need to listen to you! 😢

Hope you can find somewhere that will actually listen and help you out mamas! I am going through the same thing i will be 34 weeks Monday and my hospital just keeps sending me home and dismissing me so I am trying to switch hospitals now. It is definitely frustrating and hurtful to be dismissed the way they do. Sending all the positive vibes and prayers to you 🫶🏻

I’ve been in active preterm labor since November 29th with no dilation or anything, and the first visit was about the same I was in so much pain they gave me muscle relaxers and 10 ccs of morphine, and sent me home, I have been back 2-3 times since then with no improvement or dilation. And they told me I just needed to suck it up and deal with it pretty much and now I don’t even wanna go back.

This is so upsetting. I hate to say it but I feel like they don't take Women of color pain as seriously as they should. I hope you get to a doctor that actually listens and cares ASAP
