How would you feel, if you were newly engaged as of Christmas Day, your “fiancée” decided to get day drunk since 10am takes your ring away because you’re upset with his drinking on a casual Saturday afternoon, now leaves you home alone past 1am to party while you are home with your children?
Im not sure how I should be feeling, but I do feel very alone and heartbroken. Like is he going to take my ring away after every argument we get into?

Sorry you're feeling this way. I would be feeling the same. It's not a good start from him and is this a sign of things to come? Or has he always been this way 🤷🏽♀️ maybe you need to think and decide whether this is the type of husband you see yourself with til death do you part 💗

I wouldn’t be happy, does he drink a lot? It would be a massive problem for me the drinking. I get we are all allowed one and to have a release but that’s a nope. And taking the ring away ? wtf, it’s not something he can use against you as and when he throws his dummy out the cot!

If I was to say I can tell how much you love yourself and children by the partner you chose, would you take that as an insult or a compliment?

I’d take this as a big very big sign to not marry someone like this

He's playing with your emotions.
He doesn't like what you're saying about his drinking, so he tries to upset you by taking the ring.
That's a put off...
And of course you would be upset at his drinking, because it leaves you alone with the kids at home past midnight, while he acts irresponsible.
He's got no respect for you.

He can keep it.

Yeah, absolutely not. Taking your ring back is a huge red flag and something I wouldn't put up with. He can keep it.

He’s taken the ring back but ironically the ball is is in your court now, I agree w the other ladies that he can keep his damn ring. Do NOT take it back. You already feel like he gave it in the first place- proposed, to keep you. But he’s not earning his keep by showing you what a great potential husband he can be. Instead he’s showing you a flashback of what your future years married will look together and it looks….miserable. Uncompromising. Selfish. Will you settle for “miserable”? Because I certainly won’t. His drinking isn’t getting better and if the prospect of being married for his woman and kid won’t get his act together - what will? Nothing. I can see your future with him is gonna be frustrating, unhappy and miserable and I’d get out now while I still can, and it’s not too late. And what immature Dhead takes an engagement ring back like a toy from a toddler anyway?? 😳 That’s literally the first I’ve ever heard that an engagement ring has been taken back like it’s HIS

Major red flags girl! Don’t accept the ring back and move on. Completely unacceptable

i just want to say that being the kid in this sort of relationship has a definite impact on their mental health and how they view relationships. do you want this man to be the one who sets the example for your boys of how they should treat women? my mom stayed with my dad and while i love them both, he was an angry alcoholic for almost 20 years and he only recently got sober in the past few. its a very frustrating and miserable life to deal with someone who refuses to change themselves and takes their own misery out on other people. im sure you love him and have the hope that he’s going to eventually change, but realistically how long is that gonna take? how many years will you have to deal with this back and forth before he changes? if he even does change?

He's not your fiance, he's your 'used to'. You're use to him, he's your comfortable drama. My ex was the same, unfortunately he turned nasty after marriage going as far as stAngling my cat to keep me. It can get better yes, but 6 years is something you can't get back, so personally, I'd leave and not look back
