My baby typically goes to sleep at 8/8:30pm and it’s very hit and miss whether I’m going to get a good or bad night. So I’ve made a habit of going to sleep when she does just so I can get a decent amount of sleep (all be it broken) at night.
I feel like I’m in the minority here because I see so many people on social media still going to sleep at their regular bedtime - how do they cope?!!!

During regressions and really bad weeks I’ll go to bed a bit early, like 9.30ish, to ‘catch up’ otherwise we usually go to bed around 11 x

When my son started consistently sleeping through the night around 5 months old, that’s when I felt confident enough to start going to bed a bit later as I knew I’d get a proper night sleep.

That last couple hours at night is the only time we get just the two of us. We’ve never gone to sleep when the baby has (for either of them).
We just learnt to function on less sleep I think 🤣 been a zombie for 2 years now 🤷🏼♀️

I’ve always pretty much gone when she’s gone to bed!

I’ve always gone to bed when my son does.. it was the only way to survive how god awful his sleep was x

I go to bed about 8.30pm, about an hour and a half after my baby goes down. I’ve never been a night owl anyway, but until I start getting full nights sleep I need to go to bed early as I don’t function well on less then 7/8 hours sleep 😩

When my baby was younger, I used to go to bed at the same time as him. It just meant that I could catch up a little on sleep as I never knew how long he’d be up for in the night. Since he’s been in his own room he’s been amazing with sleep for the most part so I’ve been going to bed at normal time (which still is only 9pm😂). Do what works for you! You need every minute of rest you can get, especially with night wake ups

When my little girl was getting up through the night I slept when she slept otherwise I was a zombie, but as soon as she started sleeping through the night after the first week- so I could catch up on sleep- I’d go bed probably about 10/11 as she used to sleep till 7/7:30 x

I used to favour an 8:30pm bedtime even before the baby 😆 now, on the very rare occasion that baby has had a late nap and goes down later than 8pm, I get so annoyed because I want to go to bed

I go to bed at 7pm / asleep at 8pm and my husband looks after her until Midnight (brings her to bed when she falls asleep around 8pm but if she wakes up before midnight, he deals with it)
Then we switch, he goes to sleep and I deal with our LO midnight to 6am, sleep when she sleeps but get up with her as/when she needs.
Suppose it depends if people's LOs are sleeping through the night.
If mine did then yeah I would stay up a little longer, but she doesnt so I dont, I need all the sleep I can get 😂

My son's sleeping pattern has regulated a bit so I feel more confident about going to sleep a bit later. But yeah, in the early days, I was going to bed at 8pm as it meant I would get a solid 4/5 hours where my husband would take on that shift!

Until my baby was around 4 months, I went to bed when she did at around 7pm. For the first few months, I'd go to bed at 7 and my husband would take her until 10pm when he went to bed to ensure I got a few hours of sleep.
From 4 months, I used to put her to bed and then watch tv with my husband for an hour and then creep back in and then when she moved to her own room it obviously became easier. I returned to work at 6 months so it was needed. We still go to bed around 9 which is earlier than we used to, but we're exhausted haha!

I went to sleep at the same time as my daughter until she was around 6 months. When we started using the monitor I stayed up later. No i usually go to sleep around 11.30 and regret it every morning 🤣 xx

Hi mommas
If the words “sleep training” make you cringe a little… same.
I don’t love the term either.
For so many mums, it brings up ideas of crying or doing something that just doesn’t sit right. That’s not what I do.
I offer gentle sleep guidance — helping babies slowly and lovingly learn how to sleep independently, in a way that feels right for your family. No rigid plans. No leaving your baby to cry. Just support, reassurance, and small steps.
As a mum of two (and an OCN-qualified sleep consultant), I know how heavy sleep deprivation can feel — and how much confidence it takes to try something new.
Better sleep doesn’t have to feel harsh or scary.
It can feel calm, supportive, and kind.
And honestly? You deserve that 🤍
