Potty training

She is still learning a lot of it will be up to yall to catch her clues and decide how long yall want her to stay on the potty when you know she needs to go but is holding it till she starts to self initiate. What method are you using and that will make a difference to the tips offered?

this happened to us, the third day felt hopeless. it clicked for her shortly after that. does she stay on the potty? for us we had to read to her to keep her on the potty long enough that she could let it out

My daughter holds it so long she’s in pain, but still won’t pee when she’s sitting on the potty. I keep trying and she’ll hold it for like an hour and then pee on the floor after sitting on the potty several times

I thought we had it down (one accident a day) and then we tried an outing and it’s like we are starting all over again :-(

What I’ve read is it takes time for them to build the “gotta go” cue and have it click in their head. It takes feeling wet and recognizing accidents over a period of time so- consistently going and talking about. Also give yourself a break this is hard!
