Hey everyone! My little one has started to do a new trick when breast-feeding she grabs onto my nipple and pulls it. Has anyone run into this and have you stop the habit?

My LO does this as well no idea how to stop it.. it hurts so bad. Her older sister never pulled on my nipples just played with my mouth and hair. But this one pinches and grabs at me the whole time we feeding.

Everything I have read about teaching breastfeeding “manners” is to gently say something like “ouch! That hurts mommy” and take the breast away for a short amount of time before offering again. I am just starting to deal with some similar behavior. Also not sure if it’s happening with the breast you’re feeding on or the other, but I’ve read as they get older they sometimes like to “twiddle” the nipple on the other side, so keeping the other side covered should help if that’s the issue.

Mine bites down and rears her head back. When I say ouch she pops off and smiles 😩

I put mittens on my baby or cover her hands

When you say grabs onto and pulls it, you mean with their mouth right?? Cause my baby girl has been doing the same! More so during the day time feedings. I notice it during her shorter feedings, once she’s done she will just pull it with her mouth to the side and stretch it until it pulls off. I’ve tried to say ouch, or look her in the eyes and ask if she’s done, or I’ll say literally “if you’re done then say that, no need to pull on me” lol but she will look at me and put the biggest smile on her face like nothing !! Figuring out how to stop this habit for sure

I’ve read and tried pushing her face into my boob before she pulls too far. She for sure does it to play. She’s so silly 🤪 I also say ouch or no please don’t do that so she knows it hurts mommy.
