Hello 👋🏽 I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant with the second and just trying to get prepared (as much as you can 😅). With my first we struggled to breastfeed and particularly from 3 weeks. I saw a lactation consultant and they told me that it was because my baby had a small and shallow latch. She wasn’t getting to the hindmilk and my breasts weren’t getting fully stimulated. This was due to a combo of baby having restricted tongue movement and I have quite large nipples and she said “unusual shape” 😅. I’m curious if anyone has had to work with large nipples and what solutions exist? I even struggled with some breast pumps because my nipples are too big.

I don’t have large nipples but large breasts and both of my kids have recessed jaws/ smaller mouths. They both also had pretty severe tongue and lip ties. We did the laser release at a dentist for both- my son around 8 weeks and my daughter around 3 days. Also the best position to feed with their unique mouths was football hold by far.

I roll up a muslin cloth and put it under my boobs to lift my nipple up xx
