We don’t have an iPad but I let my baby watch a few episodes of Bluey during the day on the tv but sometimes I wonder if that’s classed as an iPad kid? He doesn’t watch it when we’re out or at restaurants ect

Why does it matter? And no watching a bit of tv does not define an ipad kid - An ipad would be needed for that 😊

I’d say an iPad kid is more a child that doesn’t physically play like how children play outside or play with toys their go to is the iPad games , only tv use and no books read car journeys iPad outings with family iPad that I personally would call an iPad kid but that’s just me

iPad kids to me at the ones that can't sit in a restaurant/cafe or something like that without having an iPad in front of them or having it constantly in the car/on a plane etc. When they don't really wanna play cas they want to sit on it and play.
Watching a bit of TV doesn't count

My child doesn’t have any additional needs and we sometimes have no choice but to let him watch something on our phones when at cafes or restaurants.. It doesn’t mean that my child does not enjoy doing anything else / does not enjoy playing with toys, because they are attached to a screen, in fact my child wants to get out of the high chair and explore their surroundings, so in order for us to have a meal, we allow some screen time.

Watching something on TV isn’t the same as an iPad. It’s screen time but not ‘iPad’. The difference is that watching tv can be a social interaction that people do together, whereas iPads (or similar) withdraw people from social interaction. It’s personal preference what you want to allow in your household, whatever works for you and your family ❤️ I tried using my iPhone when food was taking forever in a restaurant once and he was not interested one bit. Just wants to run around causing carnage 🙃

Totally agree with these comments. But we will use iPhone and ms Rachel when we are out for a meal as keeps him occupied and slows him down when he’s eating so we all actually end up having a really enjoyable family time. If not he will scoff the lot then get fed up / bored.. so this is the only time we do this. But in general he will watch tv here and there. Xxx

I don’t consider my baby an iPad kid and we have cartoons on the tv for him on most of the time as back ground noise. He plays all day not glued to it. I’d consider an iPad kid a child who has no interest in going outside to play, doesn’t play with toys etc, just obsessed with the iPad. Even when going out having to always have the iPad.
