Name Regret

Hello mamas,
I have been struggling with name regret for some time. I have 3 daughters named Ruby, Hazel and Elsie. When we were deciding on a name for Hazel we struggled to agree on a name. I loved 2 other names but my partner did not. We finally settled on Hazel which was my decision mainly. But my heart was never really set on it. When i named her i got comments about how ruby and hazel are both color names which created a theme i never intended and it made me have regrets. I named my third baby Elsie and i had people ask if i was going to go with another color name which made me wonder if i made my first two girls names sound cheesy. Has anyone ever had name regret and were able to move past it?

If it helps I didnt see a connection between Ruby and Hazel apart from them maybe being sort of nature-y at a push. I thought they actually all sounded lovely together. People just talk too much with nothing to say.

I don’t really see Ruby and Hazel as being connected. Ruby seem like a gem to me and a Hazel a colour or nature themed.
I think it is a lovely name!
I think they all sound nice together.
People always will have something to say, don’t let them put you off.

What about a nickname that may like more? Zella?
Hazel reminds me of the book Watership down. I love that book.
It definitely doesn’t sound cheesy :)
How old are your kids?

tbh, although they are both colours, that isn't an association I. would ahve made between Ruby and Hazel - my first thoughts are Ruby as a gemstone, and Hazel as a type of tree, so if anything there is a nature themed commention between the two, but very subtle.

if you had named. your third daughter an obvious colour name, like Scarlett or whatever, I think the pattern would become more obvious - but as it is, it's not an association I wod make unless it. was pointed out to me and I think. Elsie fits perfectly with her sisters names! they all sound so cute together! 💕

I think theyre all gorgeous names. I dont see much of a connection between Ruby and Hazel as I feel like they have very different vibes. Hazel being more of an 'earthy' name and Ruby more bold. And then Elsie is more of a traditional feminine name. Theyre all individual and I think all 3 go together lovely x

I honestly didn’t think Ruby and Hazel would be connected in terms of them being ‘colours’ - they’re all lovely names xx

I love all three names, and hazel and ruby gave me an earthy theme (if any) rather than color. I think people just want to comment (mostly with good intentions), just to say something but they don’t really mean it or care for that matter
Love all three names, especially Hazel actually

I have two children named after berries, not intentionally. Rowan and Juniper. But I didn’t do it on purpose and I love both of their names.

I don’t think of a color when I think of Hazel. I think of the beauty of nature.

I think they’re lovely together

That never would have come to my mind with Ruby and Hazel. I love the name Hazel. And Elsie is adorable!

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
