Where can I get a second opinion?

Hiya, I had sudden pelvic girdle pain in week 24 and now this week, week 25 it's turned into groin pain on one side and a stiff swollen cold leg. I went to maternity triage at Chelsea and Westminster where I am booked and they gave me codeine and a blood thinner injection and told me to come back the next day for a Doppler leg scan and further injections. Went the next day , had the scan of the whole leg, they didn't find clots so they sent me home with no further injection.

I still have a swollen leg, painful groin and they have not resolved my issue. They didn't know what it was but because it wasn't DVT they sent me home.

My doula suggests I get a second opinion. Have any of you ever needed a second option and where did you go? Should I try another hospital?

This is not normal and I am walking like a pirate with a wooden leg because it's so stiff.

I’d try GP or talk to your midwife at your next appointment (if that’s too far away you can call your midwife team and ask vs going to the hospital)

I dont have much advice on second opinion but I had this from week 22 until she came at week 38.
C&W midwife referred me to their physiotherapist. I went in one afternoon and all she said I can do is "cat cows" that exercise where you are on your knees and outstretch opposite arm and leg.
I would do it for temporary relief but truthfully didnt do anything at all.
She also made me buy a belly band and taught me how to wear it in the best way to support the weight. Again, nothing really helped.
So if anything I would start with GP then ask your midwife to refer you to their physiotherapist

Thank you and I'll do both

Also I am sorry this happened to you and hope you okay now. Did the pain and swelling go away after delivery?

Turns out I have a massive DVT, I had to go 5 times for them to take me seriously and rescan with a letter from my GP who probably saved my life. They kept me in the hospital for a week and have never , seen anything this big. So many failing their side. After a second scan I have a DVT in my groin and leg. I am not out of the woods but thank you for suggesting I go to my GP and midwife and !

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.
