Calcough might help has it’ll soothe the tickly throat.
Calpol or nurofen won’t do anything for a cough.

We've tried it recently and it's been quite effective for us. We've found Calpol and nurofen to also be helpful for overnight coughing when it's bad, nurofen more so than Calpol for some reason 🤷🏼♀️

We always found calcough helps slightly, not sure if it’s a placebo but defo soothed a tickly cough x

Strong manuka honey is the best for cough give a teaspoon before bed

My son who is 23 months had some calcough last night as he has a horrible cough on him he also has helped him sleep so defo is worth it or you could also try tixylics which is brilliant

Under age 6 cough medicine doesn't contain anything that actually helps with a cough it's just glycerine
You can get cheaper own brand stuff but it doesn't really help

I have never found calcough effective
