I’ve been told my cervix is measuring short and I need to see the doctor tomorrow to work out next steps. Worst case scenario (for me) is that I’ll need a stitch in my cervix to hold it together. Has anyone else had this and can tell me do they numb the area before doing the stitch? Or is it sore? I had a colposcopy years ago and I’m still traumatised by the pain of getting that anaesthetic, and more recently (when going through IVF and before I got pregnant) a doctor tried to pull off a cervical polyp without giving me an anaesthetic and the pain was unbearable 😅 so I have the total fear just now and getting myself a bit worked up

I’ve had cerclages with both my pregnancies and yes they completely numb your lower half but you are awake! They’ll usually keep you at the hospital after for a couple hours until you can feel your feet and legs not be numb anymore. Dont be scared, it’s fast and you don’t feel a thing 😌
