Anyone know how to wean baby into sucking

If she’s in nicu or if you have post partum care are you able to ask if you can see a lactation consultant? They’d be able to help you with getting baby to latch.

My Lo would sort of do this except he only would suck for a second then he would fall asleep. The nurse told me that rubbing under the chin kind of like a tickle can make them do it or I’ve found rubbing the cheek. My lo didn’t do it very long and it possibly could be because he had jaundice but try that out as long as it’s safe to do so and hopefully you can find out a solution soon!

You need to speak to a speech and language therapist at the hospital, I established breastfeeding a month later after baby was on feeding tube in NICU, so defo can be done, good luck x
