Baby classes/naps

I really want to consistently go to baby classes but I can’t understand how you time going - if he doesn’t nap before it we can’t go? He’s 12 weeks and if he’s awake longer than like an hour and a half he gets so moody. But I can’t force him to nap no matter what I try. ?!

We always walk to classes to give the best chance of getting a nap in before, I'm about a 30 minutes walk to the town centre. Baby sensory always sends her to sleep halfway through. Also 12 weeks

hello, i’ve just booked our first baby classes we start tomorrow baby is 15 weeks and i’ve booked a time that suits us so we are going 11.20-12.20 :) maybe try keep a record of naps over 2 weeks and aim for a session that suits your pattern? :)

If my baby didn’t nap before the class then we’d still go as he’d be tired out from it and he’d sleep later x

I think you just have to commit to going and if baby doesn’t nap before, hopefully they’ll be distracted during the class or you may end up having to help them sleep during and just watch the rest. With my first, I spent many a class rocking her to sleep and holding her but it got less and less as she got older and it meant I had more time to chat to other mums xx

I walk in the hope he naps on the way. I started classes at 7 weeks and have sat there with him napping/ feeding or changing nappy. I interact as much as I can and chat to other mums. It’s equally about my mental health

I go to a massage class and it’s conveniently the time he wants to sleep, but won’t sleep unless I rock him/ push in a pram/ car journey!

I don’t worry too much. One class I walk to so that he will dose off in the pram. The other one I drive to and if a nap before hand hasn’t worked out I will try and leave a bit earlier and do a slightly longer drive so that he at least gets 20-30min nap in the car, but best laid plans and all that!

I just go. She’s really unpredictable with feeds and with sleep like your LO.
Half the time she sleeps for a bit of the group, sometimes she cries. We just do what we would have done at home.
I’ve been going out since 10 weeks and the best bit about groups is that everyone there is doing it with you and gets it! Everyone knows it’s been a massive effort for anyone to get there!

We wing it, our LO will nap for either 3 hours or 30mins. Will do the same as others have said, either walk (30mins) or leave 15mins earlier in the car to drive abit longer so she’ll sleep. Everyone’s in the same boat and everyday is different x

You just need to go with it. They’ll either be so distracted that they will be fine until they crash at the end of the class and have a good sleep, or if they fall asleep mid class then that’s fine too just sit and enjoy the company while they have a nap xx

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
