Slept through for 7 hours?! 4w 4d old

Is this normal? šŸ™ˆ She’s usually up at least once or twice during the night but last night she slept from about 12am - 7pm this morning! She’s nice and alert and has just had a big feed - nappy wet. Am I just overthinking it. She didn’t nap as much/long yesterday so maybe it’s that. She made up her birth weight almost straight away, in fact she only lost 2% of it in the first place. She’s a good eater and she’s definitely growing! My rational brain knows this is probably ok but I just wanted reassurance šŸ™ˆ Has anyone else been in this situation? X

both of mine slept all night from quite early on and still now my 3 year old will sleep 6pm-6:30am ā˜ŗļø

Mine is 5mo and she has been sleeping 12 hours uninterrupted since 12 weeks old, so long stretches can definitely happen! šŸ˜… and don’t let other people tell you what your experience with sleeping will be, mine hasn’t had the sleep regression at nights that everyone talks about.

If she’s gaining weight well and your doctor hasn’t advised waking her for feeds, I personally wouldn’t disturb her. She may just be learning that she can go longer between feeds at night. Sometimes waking them can interrupt a skill they’re starting to develop.

But of course, every baby is different, you know your baby best.

Mine did this last night I was panicking but then realised it is normal and he’s healthy and alert and will let me know by screaming the house down if he’s hungry etc. don’t panic because that’s what I was doing last week because he’s always up once through the night for a bottle. Xx

I used to panic when ours started having longer stretches but it was totally fine- she very much led the way with what she was ready for, was doing 9-7 with one feed by 8 weeks and has continued to improve. I’d just go with their flow if they’re well and happy in the day x

As long as the weight gain is on track there shouldn’t be a problem

Babies sometimes won't wake up for a feed if they're too warm even if they are hungry. Don't over think it if she's all alert and feeding and okay she was probably just good cozy!! I had the same issue with my little one she went 6 hours without a feed despite being hungry because she was too warm x

My little boy used to do it when he turned about 8 weeks, then another 4 hour stretch after that. Felt like a brand new woman! Enjoy it as much as you can, enjoy the rest mama!

Yes totally normal. My little girl has slept through from 4 weeks old 😊

Generally you’re meant to wake them up every 3 hours for a week - that’s what I was advised by the midwife. However, they will sleep if you let them - my daughter slept for 6 hours once.

Co-Sleeping

I’m seeing alot of mums mentioning co-sleeping, at my hospital they had us sign a paper saying we wouldn’t and all the risks of it.

I’m just curious why there is so much negative on it when it seems it’s a positive in some cases I’ve read.

Anyone else's baby NOT sleeping through the night?

I would never have expected this, but I am seeing so many comments from mums saying that their baby sleeps through the night. It can't just be my baby who is waking up every 1-2 hours? Please say I am not alone...

HELP

Mums I’m loosing my mind!!! My daughter is 3 months old in a few days and we’ve had a lot of ups and downs with her feeding. She is formula fed only. She was having the symptoms minus rash for CMPA / Reflux and the DR is trialing her on Aptamil Pepti she’s been on this now for 2 weeks. We were doing really well on it. She wasn’t fussing at the bottle anymore and her stomach wasn’t making noises, no more congestion etc etc.

But the past few days it’s started again, she’s fussing at it instantly, she wants it but she doesn’t, I can hear her taking air in because she’s crying at it, I can hear her stomach again. She is sounding wheezy again. I’ve just spent a good 45 minutes giving her her bedtime bottle and it was the worst it’s been! Why?!?! Wanting the bottle, but crying. Sometimes it’s like she can’t take a breath or she doesn’t know how to breathe properly while drinking it. She has the slow flow teats as the formula is watery consistency so I felt like the number 2 teats were choking her.

I’m at my wits end with it I am getting so frustrated with it because I don’t know why!!!!!!

Please can someone guide me in the right direction as to what is going on because I I just want to cry!!!!!

For the breastfeeding moms

What drink should I choose instead of soda? I’ve been drinking a lot of soda and sometimes water, but I want something bubbly to drink while breastfeeding. I don’t like seltzer water or flavored versions. Please help me find a drink.

What baby monitor do you use?

I currently have a vtech monitor but it picks up absolutely everything! I live in a bottom floor four in a block and I’m ready to have a mental breakdown🤯 it’s picking up every conversation my upstairs neighbour is having, when she’s moving stuff around, her dog barking and it’s driving me insane especially at night

I want one that still easily picks up my son but not so sensitive that it picks up my neighbour breathing🫠

What time are you guys going to bed?

We go to bed at like 11ish, and baby goes same time as us so I will feed him right before lights out and he’ll go to sleep in the next to me at same time as us. But some people are putting their babies down much earlier - how and why do you do that ? Do you then go to bed that early too? What about breast feeding?
