Short naps - help πŸ˜…

Any advice on how to get my 5 month old to extend his naps? No matter where he naps (cot, car, pram, or contact nap) he will almost always wake up after 30-40 minutes and have around 5-6 naps a day! He will wake up in a good mood then be incredibly grumpy and want to go back to sleep about half an hour later. It's almost like he has part 1 and part 2 of a nap before he can have a proper wake window 😴 Has anyone else experienced this, and what can I do differently?
Night sleep isn't too bad - bedtime at half 8 ish and then 2 short wake ups before waking for the day at 6am.

We have this! Our almost 5 month old does 30 min sleep cycles, but with one long 2 hour nap a day. We have to FIGHT for that 2 hour nap - but once we get through the half hour danger zone he will sleep comfortably. We find the best way to do this is to be ready and waiting at half an hour - jigging, patting, shushing him etc. He will try and wake up and be soothed back to sleep immediately. After we get through the half hour window we're generally good for a longer nap! It's a really normal thing - your baby is just struggling to join his sleep cycles during the day x

I had exactly the same issue and nights had gone to pot too! I asked chat GPT and omg its changed everything 🀣 went from 6 wakes in the night to 2 for just feeds. Self soothing to sleep and now longer naps. We are only two weeks in but seen such a change and the advice/ timings is all personalised! Basically we weren't having long enough wake windows to create enough sleep pressure for longer naps! X

My daughter is the same, she seems to have really short wake windows because her naps are so short

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. πŸ₯Ί

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? πŸ₯²

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated πŸ₯°

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
